Same problem, I can't see log in screen, it always flickers. I used System-Brand-Changer 1.2 on Windows 10 Home x64.

I was an idiot and didn't read the part about Windows 10 compatibility issues, now it's stuck in a loop. Please help?

FYI, I have used this tool on both a Windows 10 that was upgraded from Windows 8.1 and a Windows 10 that was upgraded from Windows 7 and worked great on both. :)

Well, I got things working a little better. What I did was overwrite the Windows.UI.Logon.pri file from the clean install (I have an upgrade cause I wanted my Windows 7 setup) before I installed update KB3081424 (this is after restoring a backup from before the update, so it's pretty time efficient). I still can't sign out or use switch users under Start10 but I can use the lock to get the same effect. Last night, when I didn't overwrite the .pri file until after the update I also couldn't create a new user in addition to the sign out and switch user problem (now I can create new users). So now I can just use the lock instead of sign out or switch user feature, can add users and switch to them, so I'm pretty much set. I suppose none of these limitations would be there but for the logon image changer but I really like that feature so I'm willing to accept the limitations. Goodness know what will be coming down the pike next!

    I did it:

Use your iinstall DVD to repair your PC. Choose command prompt from advanced repair options.

Use cd to navigate to C:\Windows\SystemResources\Windows.UI.Logon\.

In that directory you will see two files with same name, but one with .BACKUP extension. Delete the file Windows.UI.Logon.pri and rename Windows.UI.Logon.pri.BACKUP to Windows.UI.Logon.pri.

Restart your computer and your screen will not flick anymore (unless you use the app again :p )

yep.. since I am do desperate last night, I decided to enslave my HDD on another PC, hehehe
saw the backup file and renamed it, reinstall my HDD back to my PC.

since i did not prepare any DVD copy for this coz i used the built in ISO from win8.1 and install the win10 update from there i didnt have that much option.

if that didnt worked my alternative would be to find a better rescue disk with boot features.
    thanks guys.
you cant personalize win10 at this stage... they are zooming with updates.

so there you have it, another risky alternative to bring back the damaged *.pri file

    BG

I successfully resolved the flickering after I tried to change the BG, but now it is blank black, and I can't change it, I can't select any picture. How to resolve it?

I used the program to try the background change and ended up with the flickering too: The lock screen not showing and simply going to the login screen. Simply run
    Code:
    SFC /SCANNOW
from an elevated (Admin) command line. The default Windows background will come back as well as the lock screen. This worked on an upgrade from Windows 8.1 to 10.

Guess I will live with the Windows background for now.

If you do a fresh install after the upgrade this will not happen. It only happens with the upgrade to win10. The file is different.

Just a pointer to everyone. Alpha is probably working hard to resolve this issue. But it would be a good idea to always make a System Restore point in case something goes wrong.

Alpha, you should put in an option to automatically create a restore point? :)

Not true, I tried it on a clean install that had been updated via windows update, and it messed up too. So clean install will have this problem too.
