When I'm editing the .pri file permissions, I cannot add any user to take full control because the buttons are greyed out. I've tried enabling the hidden Administrator account with the same outcome. Any ideas?
You didn't use the takeown commands or set ACLS permissions on the file and directory You need to do that before you can effectively change the owner to your account
Fair enough. I've looked for that info in the OP and it's not there. Care to point me in the right direction to know how to do that? Thanks
Hi, im new to this great forum.. I have downloaded the win 10 login changer one day ago I use the take ownship and all that .. when i start login changer it create a backup .. so long so good next step is to choose a pc or change color.. when i try to change the background.. i got an error "severe error occured, please check for an update.. My question is now, where do i find an update *.exe that work Looked at Krutonium's github. cant find any usefull there... what to do Thanks
It's probably a good idea to show in that error message what Powershell wrote to stderr and stdout. Would make debugging a lot easier.
Custom Windows.UI.Logon.pri Request Thanks for your continued development on this lacking feature! Unfortunately I am still getting the "severe error" despite following all the suggestions posted here and trying many other things myself. Would anybody care to share a custom Windows.UI.Logon.pri with just the solid blue background located at C:\Windows\Web\Screen\img105.pri? A plain background like that is all many users including myself want. Thanks!
Here you go. link removed Just delete the Windows.UI.Logon.pri (make sure you always make a backup), located in the map C:\Windows\SystemResources\Windows.UI.Logon and move the one i gave you to the same location. Lock your screen and enjoy! https link removed.. Have send you a PM.
hello I see only have top people in the subject I wonder if someone could provide the image of the login screen because she and sharper than the original wallpaper already thank sorry for my bad english
A no go - does not take ownership so can't continue on with a change. Interestingly, there is an addition to the permissions groups - All Application Packages as of the last security update included as read only type.
yup, but still didn't work.. when I restart it, my laptop stuck in a blank black screen for 15 mins (after booting), and then restarting again , and then manage to through to the login screen, but the background didn't change
