Sorry, I can't send any PMs due to my post count -_+ Well, I tried using your app again few moments ago but still failed, and now I'm stuck on this black blank screen It's weird because when I encountered this problem for the first time, my PC somehow managed to recover it, but now it is already 30 minutes and my pc still stuck here.. Is there any way at least to restore my pri file first without doing clean install? And oh yeah, the chronolgy is: I tried taking owenrship of the pri file.. Success.. I run your app, change the background, error encountered, it said that I don't have access to the file, checking the ownership bit it's already mine.. I restart my pc, stuck in the blanks screen after booting up, it's quite long about 15 mins until my pc restart itselfs, and finally manage to through to the login screen.. But when I tried again, right now I'm still stuck on this black screen
A systemrepair.. Shutdown PC >> Boot PC >> As you see the BIOS screen press F12 or any other F button is that won't work >> Troubleshoot >> Advanced options >> System restore >> Press on your name and enter password if you have one >> Search for the most recent >> Wait till finished and you are good to go!
I tryed the latest version 15 og login changer... i still got the "severe error popup" and the program is freeze Anybody that have luck to get it working
Sorry still cant reply your PM -__- Unfortunately, the system restore end up with 0x8000ffff, I tried again but still same error.. And it getting worse because It's the only restore point I have (since I installed win 10 this morning, so maybe my PC haven't create any other restore point).. And when I tried to recover the bak file, both of them (the .pri and original .pri.bak file) were 0 bytes file, so I think it'll be useless since I don't have any other .pri backups, so I'm on my way to reset my pc.. Maybe the problem is on my method in taking the ownership (I use regedit and cmd thingy) and I kept my .pri.bak on the same folder in windows.logon folder.. -__- Btw thanks for your help

I think my problem is in there since when I read several page backwards, some people managed to change it using ur app Okay, I'm already managed to take the ownership using security folder, run your app, select image, change background.. Ans it said its done and yoi can lock your computer to see the new background.. But when I locked, it blank black screen again and when I looked to the file, it's zero byte files.. What do? ----------------------------------------- Nvm, tick the re-encode image, it'll do.. Thank you..
Did the path to your selected logon image contain any spaces? By the way, find it a bit funny (or tragic?) that the script that does the actual work has performed reliably from the day it was posted, but the GUI app still struggles with running takeown and icacls after 15 releases. Sorry, Krutonium
Not any problems with it. 4K Wallpapers, 1080 Wallpapers and the same for my split-screen. Not one problem occured when i used it, when i had the correct rights to change the file, i can even make custom wallpapers and the scaling is perfect!
So I tried this tool two days ago when I had some spare time and now I damaged my Windows.UI.logon.pri file without backing it up. Its 0KB in size now. I get to a black screen with only the mouse cursor visible. The two files provided in this thread wouldn't help me, one of them freezes my Windows at boot and the other one lets my login screen flash green. Oh and also no system restore point.
Always make sure that you have a backup.. It took me 17 Systemrestore before i knew what i did wrong and fixed it.. Now i give custom made pri's for users haha
I unzipped it and it triggered a virus warning from ZA (Kaspersky engine). I ran your application through Virus Total and that site reported that two out of the 55 AVs saw it as a virus. "HEUR:Trojan.Win32.Generic" and "Malware-Cryptor.MSIL.gen.1". I assume it's false positive but perhaps you can rewrite your program so that it won't trigger the AV. To be on the safe side, I didn't test your program as Krutonium's program works mighty fine.
Hmm maybe you didn't download it correctly from Data File Host! Nothing but code in this no extra's!!!
