I didn't mean to seem offended/etc, I was just... idk, surprised? I welcome the competition . Alphawaves, if you don't mind, how are you taking ownership?
I like the version that Krutonium made mutch better. Mutch faster and it's not putting anything other dan the .pri and .pri.bak in the Windows.UI.Logon. Mutch luck developing Image Changer. Edit: This is not the right thread to comment on that.. Windows 10 Login Screen Background Changer is the name as i last checked..
Okay, tried ot for third times after I clean install my pc, "severe error occured" --------------------------------- Nvm, my user folder directory name has a space on it, mangaed by adding another admin user (and without space on it's name)
You MUST use win 10 build 10.0.240 or newer in order to change logon background to an image...old win 10 TP version don't work with it since changes occurred.
I can tell you what I did.unsure if all these steps are nessecary but its a fool proof that works and since its just a logon background interface I'm not worried about it used the take ownership registry hack (unsure if needed because it doesn't fully take ownership that's needed) go into properties and the security tab and edit and change everything to full control!!!! I did this in the pri the pris folder the file in the pris folder and the main C:\Windows\SystemResources\Windows.UI.Logon folder. basically I did a full unlock then ran your windows 10 prerelease 14 program you have.it doesn't block the cmd prompt commands and allows it to function normally again. upon further inspection, windows came out with a new security update the other day and it reverted the image back to the stupid blue logo.i thought it was relocked but I ran the program again without retaking ownership and it worked flawless.parently it just pushed the image back not relock it. there you go
Okay, don't anyone get pissed off and I'm not accusing anyone of anything but this morning my Malwarebytes Pro had detected this program being infected with "Trojan.MSIL.Dropper". I only down loaded the program to my Windows 8.1 machine for future use. I suspect it is a false positive.
technically it is a hack so some codes can look like a Trojan I personally hate Malwarebytes.i had a custom windows 7 before and it auto removed files because it claimed it could be hazardous.junk imho I will add also krutonium is one guy I trust for modifications ever since he came into the scene.ive never had any issues.its definitely a false positive.ignore it Dae-look at post #511 I guarantee if you do that before you run the program that it wont screw things up its even passed the newest security patch, only thing that happened is it attempted to relock it but it was already set for full access so it did lock and grey out some areas but since it was already set using the take ownership reg file then changing to full control in properties for each section of that folder it stays hacked and ready.
Downloaded it. Tried it. And now I'm locked out of my pc. Just get a black screen with no picture, no login, no nothing. How do I fix this? Or get passed it?
Than you had a 0kb file, that means, with no ownership of the Windows.UI.logon.pri file. Try a systemrestore when you reboot Windows.. Otherwise send me a PM.
Thanks. But found the solution somewhere else. Found another Windows.UI.Logon.pri file, booted with a windows install USB, command prompt, and copied over the file. Back to what it was.
