Hello i was trying out this program, i was able to gain ownership and everything to make sure there was no errors, But for some reason after i put a new image into the background then click on "change background" i get an error saying "A severe error occurred, please check for an update". Did I miss something else from this? (I didn't restart yet to make sure it was working, but i can tell the .pri file is 0 KB, so i know it wasn't mess with correctly.

I'm running on Windows 10 Enterprise 64 bit.

Yeah that the version i downloaded and that the same error i got, and don't worry i already had a backup and replace it. Is there a certain picture ext. that it takes? (though it seems it doesn't work with any ext of picture either)

There's probably a space in the path to your new logon image.

i was going to post a video, but it seems i need to post over 20, so i will PM it to you.

Nevermind i need 5 post for PMs LOL jeez.

I did that as well.... it continues to give me the error. And there was no space as well for the image. Still wondering if i did something wrong.

Please run the Powershell script manually and post the exact error message so we can find out what is going wrong. The script and instructions were posted earlier in this thread.

Actually after reading from post 1 again, found the solution at post 1092296
Probably add it back on the top, so people can read it.

Important! Save the Windows.UI.Logon.pri file to your desktop for save keeping if anything turns bad.
    1, Go to C:\Windows\SystemResources\Windows.UI.Logon
2, Right mouse klick on Windows.UI.Logon.pri and to last option.. (My English is not so good that i can translate that from Dutch to English)
3, Go to the tab security and pres edit now add you own name/login name and pres control....
4,Now your name is listed pres the full control checkbox and save!
5, Open Windows 10 Login Background Changer, with any luck your will not recieve any error message(s) anymore.
6, Select a image that does not have any space in the name title.
    Good: 123456.jpg Bad: 1234 56.jpg
7, Press Change Background and you will be good to go!

Thanks you so much for making this useful piece of software!

I have tried again, by NOT changing the C:\Windows\SystemResources\Windows.UI.Logon permission
One of your older version still works , just current version needs to change permission for it to work .
