The Windows update restart from today has reverted the image, just as happened several days ago. I've only used v.10 so far with no attempt to change any ownerships. I just ran it and it seemed to work and has continued to show no ill effects beyond having somehow been reset twice as I've mentioned. BTW, is it intended to automate the ownership changes but we're simply not sure if it's always successful? I'm not a programmer so I'm trying to follow this as well as I can.
I'm a bit surprised that even Windows Updates that do not seem to be connected with the Logon screen in any way restore the PRI file. I can't think of any other way to keep your customized Logon image than simply run the script/app after each update/restart again. You don't want to prevent overwriting the PRI file by denying file permissions as updates would probably fail and you wouldn't get any legitimate updates to the logon screen anymore.
Everytime I click the exe it removes it from my computer. I open it as admin and it vanishes.......wtf is going on? I got my antivirus disabled and it still does it. wtf???
Hi, I'm kind of stuck... I also have the "black screen with cursor" problem and can't seem to be able to fix it (no system restore available). I tried replacing the Windows.UI.Logon.pri with a Windows.UI.Logon.pri I found online, but it didn't work... maybe you can send me another one? Also, my Windows. UI.Logon.pri.bak is 0 KB... should I replace that one too? Any recommendations? Thanks in advance...
For everyone with the GUI issue or anything like that, do first the Ownership claiming steps, then check the alternative GUI by a Moderator on page 50 post nr. 495
The point with Wallpaper's is that you must have the same file in the same location. Example: Maya want a wallpaper img02.png in D:\ Drive, but can't use the programe in any reason or trouble what so ever. Maya will ask Cyber for a custom .pri file. Let say Cyber use a Wallpaper img03.png in C:\ Drive the whole .pri file is useless. Even if it's the same wallpaper, but still because of the name and location it's screws up the whole file. So you need the same file, same name on the same location.. So, img03.png in C:\ Drive and then apply the custom .pri Not always that name or location but if anything is different i always let people know that. Hope that will work for you. As for you BSOD (Black Screen Of Death), try do a systemrestore and then let me know. -Cyber
That's not correct. The new logon image gets embedded into the pri file, there are no references to the source image in it.
Trust me.. If been there. Used a .pri file in the beginning of a friend of mine who could use the program and not me.. *Sniff, Sniff*. That's f....ed up my whole logon/login screen same as the BSOD.
Completely awesome! Works like a charm! Been trying to find a working version, and been reading thru this thread the past two days, since I've installed Windows 10. Great job, Krutonium!
speedier for sure no hiccups.better looking gui.i was using alphawaves version as it didnt lock up but now that you got this fixed its awesome once again.glad you figured it out.
Please Help. There was nothing mentioning needing admin permissions on the folder on the article I read for this program. I now have no log in screen just a black screen with a cursor. How do I fix this? Or am I going to have to return my laptop.
YOu need to restore the pri file in the Window.logon.ui folder You must of not patched it correctly (There is a tad bug in patching that i am working on fixing in the current build so fear not XD we shall have it fixed soon)
I can't log in at all though. No log in screen. C+A+D doesn't work. Nothing. I can't log in. I have no way to get to safe mode. Nothing. Just a black screen with a cursor and the ability to open the 'speaking' navigator.
I don't understand quite well what the "Restore Default" in the advanced settings does. I tried it and it seems that it doesn't restore anything. Restore hero work as aspected instead.
Restore default uses the .bak from your windows.logon.ui where as restore hero just restores the hero image it's self if you don't have a .bak of your orginal
