Lots of WPF and working on tweaking the UI to be more multi threaded to prevent "Apply Changes" dead locking the program cause of running on the UI Thread Also fixed it so now it shows you the current lock sscreen image
now lets find out how to make a windows 10 boot logo changer i also want a pony a lightsaber and a wookie that speaks chewy germanese :O
That's apart of your EFI editing that file could prevent your system from booting at all and you'd have to reinstall
im not sure if it was able to change in eight.i keep seeing 8bootloader but it doesnt look like that works properly. it worked in 7 the app made a breakthrough in coderforlife easy. just wondering how harder it would be to redo it. toyz, what do you mean it messes up the wim 100 percent.did they really change it that much? and this background loader messed up my windows forcing me to reinstall windows.no big whoop.now that the bugs are out though it works.just needed some testing
just tried 8loader again.seems to work to an extent.it doesnt break anything but the logo just no longer shows. perhaps the logo in the dll has to be a certain size.idk doesnt seem that 8oot-loader resizes it right.so it does seem possible.now to figure out why the image itself wont show in the customized bootres.dll
Theres a entirely new wim format call MSWIM/0/1 which has encrptions based on public/private which is checked on boot every time
Really cool tool, thanks for this! However, I noticed just now that removing the user info (Picture and Name) doesn't work. And if by Glyphs are referring to the icons on the right bottom, than that's not working either. The background however is changed, and that alone is already very nice! Thanks.
Is there still that issue where the pri file is set back to default when windows updates are installed?
actually it wasnt difficult.i used a take ownership exe designed for 8 used 8oot logo changer ran as tested mode backup and patched the files it had. loaded picture and ran and generated and applied.oh i also used the watermark remover for the technical preview.guess what.no hiccups.it works flawless and nothing damaged ;P i should note on a shutdown it only shows at the last second when you start the pc back up, but if you restart its there for the whole thing.still it half works. the boot loader didnt really register them right though.i found some custom bootres.dlls that will work fine on reboots and testsigning mode on. soo im guessing its half correct.microsoft half fixed the loophole but people find ways
unsure as theres no more security patches atm.it only does that with updates requiring you to load on a restart.regardless it doesnt block anything
Just tried version 1.0.2.0 and it changes only background. Does not remove user information. Great effort and I hope you get all problems resolved. The opening page download link is pointed to the older UI.
