No just no... thats ugly, we'll probably have an option to choose our own or a program that would do it like Win7. Why is this a new thread anyway? wasn't it found? it was in the "Windows 10 Findings" thread, there was no reason to create a new topic. People need to stop pumping up new topics every then and now and cause a mess, especially since RTM is getting closer, seems like people are losing their s**t.
Dude...it was in the findings thread that somebody found the location of the background.... Obviously nobody found out how to EDIT it hence why we have a thread like this... As you can see Microsoft didn't give us the option to edit login background in 10176 I'm heck sure that they won't give it in 10240... And that's exactly why this is important!
just guessing here again, but I think the dll contains pretty much the whole logon screen except for the resources ( images and layout probably ) that are in the pri file. it seems that when logonui.exe can't find the right stuff in the dll file it just gives you the fall back dos like version logon after a restart works fine with the replaced files but when you try to logon from the lock screen for example after waking your computer up after sleep it won't accept your password i'd like to try it with the files from build 10158 because that was the last one before the hero picture came but i can't extract them right now
Thanks for pointing that out. But I'm pretty sure that it is not up to you to decide what is important and what not. I've been a member since 2009 and I know that threads like this one can be important. If the title of the thread is your biggest problem then we can ask a Mod to change it. If you want to complain about clutter, try the dozen of threads that announce supposed new leaks.
If you are talking about logoncli. dll there is nothing interesting inside. It contains a template with tables.
Okay. Let me check it up and see what is embedded in it. Update: Nothing inside but version information. I still think the .PRI has all the working scripts and images for the logon screen background.
So we're this far into the Windows 10 program and Microsoft hasn't given us the ability to update the login screen. Well that's a great start
Took a picture of the Light Screen and made a jpg out of it. Since I work with Dell laptops had a Dell Logo in jpg format. Opened a Publisher file and brought both the Light Screen Logo in and then added the Dell Logo into the light frame. Made a jpg of this new Screen saved it to pictures, then changed the logon screen to show both the Light screen with the Dell Logo imbedded.
