Okay, following the guide I found at github.com, with a bit of extra guidance from crazyengineers.com, I was able to replace the damaged .pri file with an unaltered one on a flash drive. So, I managed to fix the problem myself. Thank you for your time, and have a nice day, all!
Image changing is no problem, but I cannot remove User Information or Glyphs. I move the sliders to the left and choose image and then choose Apply Changes. User Information and Glyphs still present. Its like the slider positions are ignored.
Would be interesting to know if this could be possibly hardware related as well. Win10 does have some hardware issues because of it being new. Would like to know everyone's hardware specs to see if a pattern is there or not just to rule out the possibility. I know my upgrade and even fresh install was a pita but my wifes works great with no issues. I have used this on hers and it worked perfect. My machine how every doesnt like it and I get black screen. This is why I ask about hardware and oem info. I have a feeling a pattern will arise. If I am wrong, fine. Seems hit and miss on different machines. My wife has Toshiba and mine is a HP but both have same intel hd graphics.
Try this version: hxxps://github.com/PFCKrutonium/Windows-10-Login-Background-Changer/releases/tag/1.2.0.0
Krutonium, would you kindly please post again the Powershell Script for the Windows 10 Logon Background Changer
So far, all versions have worked great on my 5760x1080 surround/eyefinity desktop, using 5760x1080 images. Thanks for such a great tool! I did have a problem, after an update, where the lock screen would not show, and it went right to the logon screen. Fixed with a restore and reapply of my custom image.
I ran the version 1.2.0.0 and change the login screen background. But it hide my lock screen. My pc go direct to login screen and i don't show the lock screen. I have the latest updates and i am in 10240 build. I have this problem from the previous build. I try correct the lock screen changed the value from gpedit but the problem keep going: Code: Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Control Panel -> Personalization Do not display the lock screen: Disabled. How can i restore the lock screen?
Hi, is their a windows 10 ctrl-alt-del and shutdown screen background changer? would like a solid black color for these screens.. Thanks and great work.
No those are no images but just a rectange drawn via code sorry... Other then that we haven't ran into any other major code issues minus the commandline version but I have addressed this in the most recent push to the code
I haven't tried this program yet but currently, when my wallpaper changes automatically (i'm running 10 Enterprise N LTSB, build 10240 btw), the desktop (icons)/Windows explorer refreshes the screen and i'm send back to the top of the opened folder, deselecting everything i had selected. Does this program solve this annoying problem and/or is this resolved in a newer Windows build? TYIA! EDIT: It happened to be related to the automatic choosing of accent colours, under Settings > Personalization > Colors. After disabling this the problem went away. Hopefully a newer Windows build will change this behaviour
Hi, doesn't work for the latest build. It works for PRI files dated Jul 10, 2015 (2.146.944 Bytes). Newer builds with Windows.UI.Logon.PRI dated Jul 30, 2015 (2.149.392 Bytes) get messed up after applying a new image. In my case the logon screen got stuck in a loop showing a black screen and the progress circle rotatory. I had to connect to my PC from another client remotely and restore the original PRI file to be able to log on again. Stay alive, Plagueis
same here, i found the 1.0.0.0 version and it messed up my login screen. only way to get back into my computer is with a hard restart after it wakes up from sleep. thank goodness i found this video that solved my problem(copy and paste after youtube . com) /watch?v=W_eHZZW1ung&list=LL2_S5a3TwsaBCePkpz9Fneg&index=1
thanks but im just going to a wait a few more months until microsoft stop playing around with the updates and give the developers time to come up with something more stable
Or you could just use the one that actually works without totally f****** your system over: Windows 10 Login Changer because this one is a piece of s**t that will wreck your install.
