We All Know How Windows Has A Tendency To Think It Is The Only OS Out There, And Does Not Want To play With Any Linux Distro, Windows Always Goes Out Of It's way To Corrupt Or Destroy any other Os That Happens To Co exits On The drive, And In The Process Destroys It's Self. The Removal Of WLS does Not Surprise me On The Contrary, I Have To Wounder Why It took Windows This Long To Remove That Feature.

    Easy to fix:

    Fully update your LTSB/Server2016 installation

Then remove the LXSS packages using install_wim_tweak.exe

    Code:
    install_wim_tweak.exe /o /l
    install_wim_tweak.exe /o /c Microsoft-Windows-Lxss /r
    install_wim_tweak.exe /h /o /l
    (reboot)

Reinstall the original LXSS packages posted by T-S

    (reboot)

in case of errors while launching bash, just reinstall linux:

    Code:
    lxrun /uninstall

    lxrun /install
    That's all

That removes January 17, 2018—KB4057142 (OS Build 14393.2034)

Which is NOT the first update that removed the WLS from 1607

So, still no way to do this? It's the only thing missing from my computer. I'm not going to re-install windows and spend days trying to uninstall a cut out all the crap. I'd rather start with a minimal install and add the few features I need. I'm hoping there is some way to just pull it from a full install or install disc and copy it over to the LTSB install.
