Problem, I've just never heard him referred to as My Dear, I know he is lean, mean, hot, horny and handsome, mal-ajusted, anti-social and darn mean, sorry if I offended you, I just never heard my dear, but I like it, everyone should now refer to Paul D as My Dear Paul Desmond, hehe
Actually, I respect Paul Desmond and appreciate his work, i do,nt mean any kind of insult by my word, i speak english very will because it is my language of education but not my native language, now i know this word is having other bad meaning for english peoples.
The word itself is not an insult, it is just dependant on with who and when you use it, to anyone under the age of 70, it is going to annoy them It is a cute word for old people to use for just about everyone because they can't remember names any more, and some adults call old people Dear as a pet name, same as Love Hello Dear Hello Love Don't say that to adults/kids

Please do not take offense , or view it in any way as a personal attack . Such people are merely showing classic psychological signs of deep-seated feelings of inadequacy. They are text-book cases of " Inferiority Complex " The roots are always in early childhood .... bad toilet training , parents who lacked the necessary basic skills , and were themselves " inadequate ". In reality we should pity them . They fail to realize that in an international forum such as ours , it is supremely crass to pick on people who are not native English speakers . The shame is entirely on them , and by their actions they wear the badge of spectacular ignorance . Next time it happens to you , ask them what the correct form of address is in arabic ..... .... or if they can even speak ANY other language . Until then , please be assured that your posts on here will be welcomed by the vast majority , who have sufficient manners , intelligence and education to ignore the very minor errors in English that may be made by any non-native speaker .
