Nope, hardware-bound. If the HWIDs (sent to the Act-Server) show mismatch ... NO ACTIVATION. No clue if phone re-activation will work in Future, it doesn't atm.
Why do we give WZOR any credit for this? I don't understand it.... I compared x86 Pro from ESD with the IMG file... they are exactly the same binaries! It's just an IMG instead of ESD/ISO. To be honest.... I would recommend to delete this thread.

Right, but how would MS know if no keys were entered at all during installation? I was able to achieve retail activated status out of the box without entering any product keys. Perhaps VMs are given special treatment?
so the people who have activated from time when make upgrade in this build no need more activations sh1t and after 29 july?? i mean we are secure for this one ?
Nope, default way for the Free Upgrade at least. During Upgrade all needed info is sent to MS Server ... no problem to identify any specific machine for MS.
no vmware and pcs is the same before make upgrade in my pc i was make in my vmware from build 10166 if rememeber to 10240 then it was activated after this i try it in my pc upgrade from win 7 pro OEM:COA to build 10240 and it was activated...its the same.
Define 'secure' . Although some might think different, i don't believe the process will change after 7/29. Daz stated yesterday in the chatbox, that Win 10 isn't able to take any win 7/8/8.1 keys at all. So how they should ask for any COA or similiar?
