Is the sole purpose of patches to switch from Evaluation to Full?

 

No, it's an easy low bandwith method to distribute original ISOs (as we use it), the source ISO being EVAL is because this ISO is easily available on MSFT servers.

on Linux systems you can use the terminal with this syntax. just put the source iso and the svf file in the same folder and run the command you find below.

./smv x it-it_windows_10_consumer_editions_version_21h2_x64_dvd_8528baf8.svf -br .

 

Now that you mentioned linux...
The .exe files from post 4818 contain an svf file and smv.exe, so they can be extracted with 7z like so

Code:

7z x filename.exe

You throw away smv.exe and use the extracted .svf file as mentioned above.

First of all thank you very much for uploading the files so fast. I sadly have a problem with keeping my data when i want to upgrade. I am currently on LTSC 2019 and want to upgrade to the latest 2021 version. When mounting the iso and running the setup it doesn't allow me to keep my files the options are greyed out. Does anyone have an idea how i can fix this?
file I downloaded was: 19044.1288.211006-0501.21h2_release_svc_refresh_CLIENT_LTSC_EVAL_x64FRE_en-us.iso

I went to check my version in regedit too:
EditionID: EnterpriseS
ProductName: Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019
