Under MSDN with VL you get access to VLSC for keys but only get limited downloads for the products you purchased, eg Visual Studio. You don't get access to other content not licenced under the program. Recreating fr-ca-education x64 now - original file matches SHA1 of MSDN but for some reason the SVF gives incorrect output file. Maybe some odd bug in SVF construction.
uploads stopped earlier. I am starting them now, so I might need to let that one finish completing Threat is on that one. Threat did x86 first and then just sent x64. So all is coming. also, after FR-CA finishes, I will have ANOTHER cloud, since the current cloud is full lol So recap will have the new address for the remainder. Sorry the x86 and 64 are split up like a sad story off of Lifetime Movie Network hehe Will make sure easy to find though
The x86/x64 split is my fault - I did the last lot as batch and my script does x86 first then x64 after so EFA uploaded them as he got them from me.
eh no biggy. They all get up in the clouds anyway. And I am keeping all the links "recapped" as we go into my posts. Thanks again Threat
I am not sure whats going on here but the file fr-ca_windows_10_education_x64_dvd_6848130.iso = 6a03c74057c2b98ebe45ce7e660c89ac4c4917be when downloaded (tried twice - got same hash) I think the hash reported on MSDN is wrong.
I think that might be the case. I tried checking it against PD's torrent and it passed. I'm going to re-download it just to make sure. I remember us having a similar issue where re-checking didn't fix a hash but re-downloading did. I'll post results. There's a way to download the education iso from MS with a education key. Unfortunately I don't know any legit education keys and have no intention of trying to use someone else's
When you say it passed, what SHA1 did he get? File on MSDN claims: Code: File Name: fr-ca_windows_10_education_x64_dvd_6848130.iso Languages: French SHA1: EAC5311A9F6BF42D857489EC617FB52094AE020E File Redownload #1 Code: File: fr-ca_windows_10_education_x64_dvd_6848130.iso CRC-32: eef637e6 MD4: e8171eb9c4bbadcb87cbc50fbb00b76d MD5: b8f055526ec9f99e045391a001dfddd2 SHA-1: 6a03c74057c2b98ebe45ce7e660c89ac4c4917be File Redownload #2 Code: File: fr-ca_windows_10_education_x64_dvd_6848130 (1).iso CRC-32: eef637e6 MD4: e8171eb9c4bbadcb87cbc50fbb00b76d MD5: b8f055526ec9f99e045391a001dfddd2 SHA-1: 6a03c74057c2b98ebe45ce7e660c89ac4c4917be M$ very likely load balance there back end so this could be a problem with the file on only some of the servers - he may geographically get redirected to a different back end server etc.
I don't know if he tested it, but he posted the MSDN sha1, so same boat. edit: Is there any way as a MSDN sub to report a bad download link?
No I mean a file with a bad hash passed a re-check, but re-downloading via torrent had correct hash. LostED remembers this.
In this case, the SHA1 on the MSDN site is wrong, or the file on M$ servers is corrupt. It's been tested multiple places now. Even the torrent from PD which he quoted the MSDN hash, the file actually matches mine. Ultimately M$ has made a food up somewhere - since we don't know the SHA1 is wrong or the file is wrong I recommend people exercise caution if they plan to try this file.
FR-CA Education x64 download from MSDN has hash: 6A03C74057C2B98EBE45CE7E660C89AC4C4917BE as opposed to the one listed on MSDN: EAC5311A9F6BF42D857489EC617FB52094AE020E Paul's download is the same hash. Threat has dl'd it twice. He helped me download it. All of the MSDN links produce the 6A... hash So unless we're able to get a EA... iso from somewhere else, we can just consider it to be a mistake on the hashing for MSDN.
Does anybody try this corrupted fr-ca iso install to virtual machine a immediately after installation run sfc -scannow? Mine student status and Dreamspark account is currently suspended.
