New Windows 8 "Modern" applications (aka "Metro" applications) require the use of User Access Control (UAC) and since the local administrator account bypasses UAC, it isn't possible to use the local administrator account to run those applications, and the errors will appear
All listed TCP parameters are arguable. And may lead to unpredictable failures eventually. Use at your own risk
hmm that's mean i cannot use administrator account as my default windows same as windows 7... i dun move to win 8 cause by this and no start menu ... sound like gonna stick to win 7 after all... lol old users like me want an admin pc... hope to find a fix...
Does someone has a reg tweak for enabling old DirectUI Start menu from build 9841? Current XAML one sucks.
stubborn scheduled task Ten points and a smiley to whomever manages to disable this stubborn scheduled task in an elegant fashion. This task seems to upload user data without consent, even if you're using a local account (not an MS account): Task Scheduler -> Task Scheduler Library -> Microsoft -> Windows -> SettingSync -> BackgroundUploadTask Just to clarify: After taking ownership of files and registry keys, I managed to fight my way into completely removing it. But it would be better to simply be able to disable instead of delete it.
Thanks for the tweaks However, how do you logout from a ms account and back to the Local Super Admin account? In Settings there is no option to switch to local account, when you are login as Administrator. The problem is: When you are on Local Super Administrator and opens the mail app with your outlook account, windows 10 will automatic switch to a ms-account. Is there a way to prevent that, or a setting that can enable switch to local?
Isn't a easy way: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Data Collection and Preview Builds ? "push the button" and take a look what happening.
Can I associate mouse pointer to HDW, not MSA? I have two W10 laptops, Dell M6700 with a 1920x1080 screen and a E6500 with a 1440x900 screen. The default mouse pointer looks to have a one pixel border, making it difficult to see on the higher resolution screen. When I select a bolder style of pointer on the M6700, it looks great. But now I have the same pointer on the E6500 screen and it's just plain goofy looking. I'm assuming the pointer style is associated with my MSA (Microsoft Account) and not the hardware (HDW). That's totally stupid. (And I'm not qualifying it as my opinion - it's a huge bug, period). Any way to associate the pointer style to the hardware? Thanks!
local administrator account Yes you can use the real Administrator account and use the "Metro" apps. I use the fix explained here: « win2008workstation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=2311 » - Windows Store on build-in Administrator Account - Off: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\system] "FilterAdministratorToken"=dword:00000000 Windows Store on build-in Administrator Account - On: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\system] "FilterAdministratorToken"=dword:00000001
same answer goes to android users why you want to root a phone bro... and i am creating unattend answer file as administrator to login windows as well
The only answer to that question that needs to be made ever is "I own the system, I know what I'm doing, I am willing to be responsible for my actions. Thus I am the Administrator."
