Hey guys, I am on Windows 11 25H2 26200.9457 and got the ISO for 26200.9550 via uupdump (this s**t took tremendous amount of time, prolly like more than 4 hours ), I suppose it is the latest version for general use right?? anyway, so I recently came across MAS's guide to converting GAC -> LTSC and it seems to be a bit confusing or maybe a little outdated, now I got a few questions: is it possible for my installed version and ISO version? will it remove any pre existing AI Slop + Edge + Xbox + Onedrive? akaik, pre-installed store apps will sustain do I need to be aware of any other caveats? My purpose for this conversion is expecting no system breaking updates or the updates which brings back slop that I removed, in-general system stability + performance and timely security updates. Thankyou
I suppose GAC, means General Availability Channel, this is what's written on the guide here: https[:]//massgrave.dev/windows10_eol#upgrade-windows-10-home-pro-etc-to-windows-11-iot-enterprise-gac-25h2--ltsc-2024-while-keeping-files-and-apps Quoting the Note from guide: "Note If you are using Windows 11 24H2/25H2 and trying to upgrade to Windows 11 IoT LTSC 2024 using the guide below, it will not work. In this case, you need the latest monthly updated Windows 11 LTSC 2024 ISO. Since Microsoft does not provide updated ISO files for LTSC, you must manually update the ISO file before following the guide below." and I am not trying to go back to 24H2 but rather convert this into IoT Enterprise LTSC with version 25H2 and idk how to manually do the latest monthly update to Windows 11 LTSC 2024 ISO before proceeding as it says in the guide
it's useless..you can even got 26H2 IoT LTSC, but it doesn't mean you got the true one..its just a hack..you will continue to receive normal updates with all the goodies from M$ and bloats.. install 24H2 IoT LTSC and stop..
As said above you dont get a real iot ltsc 25h2 or 26h2 by upgrading from 24h2 you will still get all updates from ms so just stay on the real iot ltsc 24h2 and enjoy and wait for next real ltsc release in a couble of years.
Didn;t i answer this the other day? The time it takes for UUP>ISO to run depends on the hardware and AV interfering, best to temp disable the AV. Online only: You can't do that the easy way by changing key. You need to change the editionid to EnterpriseS in the registry and use an Enterprise 2024 LTSC ISO to inplace upgrade. More info: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/upgradematrix-xml-fix-tool-very-beta.88518/#post-1846462 Run this in an elevated cmd prompt: Code: reg add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion" /v EditionID /d EnterpriseS /f Next perform the inplace upgrade using the LTSC ISO. When this doesn't work then use the tool at the OP of that thread to fix the LTSC ISO and perform an inplace upgrade.
Should have been editionid = IoTEnterpriseS for IoT Enterprise LTSC, all editionid's are mentioned in the linked post. No mention of using bitlocker too, but good to see you have achieved your goal. PS, The guide on MAS was made after i made the post
You didn't mention bitlocker was in use. Seems a converted or self updated ISO, not allowed to publish on MDL.
but it was not in use, and setup was still saying that turn off bitlocker, how can I turn it off if it isn't on in the first place alright, yepp, it is self updated, my bad
It probably isn't but on Home all can happen, usually it only enables itself when using a MSA online windows account. Upgradematrix has no relation to the state of bitlocker nor was it needed for performing the inplace upgrade to IoT Enterprise 202x LTSC, the correct editionid was enough for that. ps, i would remove the mega link to the homebrew iso in your previous post.
Removed the Homebrew link. From what I know, automatic Bitlocker encryption needs TPM 2.0, SecureBoot and VBS enabled, and Microsoft Account.
Firstly, anyway, if you want to change your Windows edition from 25H2 to 24H2, there isn't a official method, because the system version is "downgrade". So, the safest and the official method for you to do it is to cleanly reinstall your Windows system after you format the C drive. Remember to back up all your critical data. And in the Windows 11 IoT LTSC 2024, AI component, OneDrive, Xbox, Microsoft Store are all not available. However, Microsoft Edge still exists in this system. And if you want to uninstall Microsoft Edge with official method in settings→applications, you need to use the Windows version with an N, which is specifically provided for European countries. But in my point of view, just ordinary Windows 11 IoT LTSC 2024 is enough for daily use, which can provide you a safe, sound, silent and fast operating environment.
