I may have missed reading about this, but when I run dism /get-wiminfo on the install.wim from en-us_windows_11_consumer_editions_x64_dvd_bd3cf8df.iso I get the following below: Note: I don't have Win11 installed and using dism from W10 W8.1. Not sure why it's showing the wrong names. Win8.1 right now (dism Version: 6.3.9600.19408). I know that you should not use dism from another OS, but I never had problems extracting information. The sizes are all okay. Looks like the name is generated and not static. I will boot W10 and check there . As many have said Win11 is Win10 Edit: My post above said I was on W10, but as mentioned here, it was W8.1
Staying on Win8.1 and using W10 DISM from Get WAIK Tools gave me the correct output. Still wondering how dism decides on what name gets displayed in the query. Code: U:\$W0\ADK_6\amd64\DISM\Dism /get-wiminfo /Wimfile:W11_Educ.wim Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool Version: 10.0.18362.1 Details for image : W11_Educ.wim Index : 1 Name : Windows 11 Education Description : Windows 11 Education Size : 16,136,983,252 bytes The operation completed successfully.
I purposely use early Win11 ISOs (as these allow skipping MS Account requirement for Core/CoreSL, easily). The ISOs had been created with an old version of UUPConvert, and several SKUs still showed Windows 10. I ended up educating myself about setting flags with ImageX, and the issue was resolved within minutes. Example: Code: imagex.exe /flags "Enterprise" /info "install.wim" 3 "Windows 11 Enterprise" "Windows 11 Enterprise" Imagex.exe /flags "image flag name" /info "path to your install.wim" index_in_WIM "SKU name" "SKU description"
Hey guys, I'm looking for custom Icon Packs because when I look at my desktop I literally get eye cancer! Are there any icon packs for Windows 11 yet?
Can i replace install.wim and also boot.wim from Windows 11 IP ISO, when make the image file on unsupported laptop?
