I read somewhere on MS sites they consider this as a bug, so I'm afraid the workaround isn't destined to have a long life and prosperity
That's applicable to the whole W11 thing, not just the explorer's ribbons That was applicable also in older cases like W8 over W7, but at least W8 as criticized it was came with a long string of real new features, vhdx disks, native usb boot, deduplication, way faster boot, way faster wifi connections, stock 3G management and so on. W11 comes with no meaningful features aside the Android app things, which I' im sure Intel developed for Win10 and will be back ported when available.
No effect. Must be some of the connected dlls. BTW still works for the taskbar, and AMM still works as well
Apologies if I missed it when searching through the thread, but where are the "Bugs Reported!!" for left or right taskbar relocation? Not being able to do this (until I knew of the reg way) is the one reason I haven't moved to 11 yet, but I have to weigh whatever these bugs are.
You can change the location if this is what you're asking .. it's under settings look the response below. Why registry though? Settings > Personalization > Themes > Desktop icon settings
Do you mean the response about the Recycle Bin? I was asking about the warnings related to left/right taskbar and what they might be.
I'm trying to change the default file association for .png and .jpg files. Seems there is no way. Windows 11 allows only their store apps as defaults. Nice. MS must hate cooking, only ready made meals are allowed.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\ClassicStartMenu] "{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}"=dword:00000001 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\NewStartPanel] "{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}"=dword:00000001 Try this
New gripe, yesterday after the latest update on Windows 11 (10.0.22000.71), the hateful new context menu (both on desktop and in explorer)is back and being enforced Probably designed by some millennial gui wunderkind who stabs at a tablet like a dumb monkey has no idea about how stupid and productivity sapping that stupid menu is...having to click Show More Options all the time.... We use desktops for Windows in the real world asshat You could get rid of by disabling Launch Folder Windows In A Separate Process, but thats seems to no longer be the case Making me want to revert to Windows 10 and stay there at this point, they can stick their feedback and telemetry from us testers where the sun doesnt shine because they already knew we hated that and most had disabled it. This is the Start Menu all over again Microsoft:"we have telemetry data showing no one uses the start menu". 3 years later afetr several 3rd parties have made plenty off start menu replacements, they put it back (although still a reduced crappy and hobbled shadow if its former and useful self)
