No stardock SW in that screenshot, ust classic shell (which is around since the early vista days), and AMM which is an almost mandatory SW starting from XP days (no matter if you are on dual monitor or not) I think MS thinks that its users finally reached the "dumbification" level of the average Mac user, and act consequently, apeing Apple (they are only partly right) to protect those simple brains from an information overflow. So don't have much hope in MS redoing what just (purposely) destroyed. You have to rely on file swap or third party SW
Did you restart Explorer/Reboot? Update: To verify, I've just applied and removed the tweak in Win 11 Enterprise/Pro/Home - it works fine. Win 11 start menu - Apply registry tweak - Restart Explorer and it changes to the Win 10 start menu - Remove tweak - Restart Explorer - Back to Win 11 start menu.
The point of classic shell is to make the start menu working like an older version. If you prefer you can use the cascading menus of win95 So saying that my screenshot looks like W10 is just saying that I accomplished my purpose (and the purpose of the thread where I shared it)
@Enthousiast Almost certain this one is by design so maybe worth including, don't know? Some have posted that it's no longer there, but it's now on mouse over only. Show Desktop Now Only Visible On Mouse Over (By Design)
It's not shown on my test install, only when i hover the mouse in the down right corner a line shows and a balloon with "Show desktop". Added to the overview.
Thatswhy Enthy was not agreed to have a separate win11 subforum n i was with him in that support. cuz before apublic release of any OS nothing is stable.
Personally, for the moment it was enough to just mention 11 in a thread title or post but now we have two separate forum parts to fill.
The point I was making (as previously mentioned) was that the thread has gone seriously OFF-TOPIC, hence the lack of (limited) worthwhile contribution.. Does this thread actually need the advertising of 3rd party apps (offered up as tweak/modification) to compensate for what appears to be a shortfall in M$ offerings` I for one, have become a little tired of being notified that there is a new post in the thread, only to arrive here to find an incessant amount of arbitrary comments about the inconsistencies of (a preview build) Windows 11 Seriously, if you don't like change... WTF are you doing testing insider builds... and most of the comments presented here are seriously unwarranted' Would appreciate if a 'Moderator' would take the time to go through this thread, and remove all comments pertaining to a discussion of b. 22000 to its appropiate thread
Notification that its disabled or notification that definitions have been updated etc? If disabled, I used Defender Control and haven't seen any notifications. This post.
