You clearly have never been naughty, using Defender. You can restore it, set it to ignore, make an exception and it will still interfere. I disabled Defender, it causes BSOD, I remove vulnerable startup entries, then restore defaults, but it prevents it.
sounds like its changing its temp id , try excluding the temp folder I personally have no issues with excluding stuff or using the allow option, i download torrents all the time

yes change bootmenupolicy to standard, you dont need displaybootmenu if it exist in bcdedit ....delete it
