I would not say accidentally. In the handheld gaming market people have been screaming at Microsoft to slimline Windows for a handheld gaming experience for years now. Windows is great and all but, it pretty much sucks in a handheld gaming space. You don't need server back-end stuff for gaming, never mind being compatible with everything just for gaming I am a gamer and follow this stuff like crazy. This is their answer right now for devices like the Steam Deck that just really work well on a handheld device. From what I have seen so far (this weekend I will upgrade it), it looks pretty good and makes Windows a little more usable on a handheld with a touch screen.
Id like to try it on some Tablet PCs for fun, but without that "preview" message. I guess there might be a chance there will be official downloads of a ready-to-go-image, like there is with Surface tablets.
Hello, could you share the modified gamemode.dll? I'm following the instructions, but nothing's working. Windows 11 25H2 26200
Are you on a handheld device, or a desktop? use the registry key I said above or the link. It does now show till it sees that key.
I noticed in the review of the new Xbox branded units that they are able to enter the pin via the D-pad at the login screen. How do we enable that?
Do you have pin enabled and does it work with the D-pad? If I remember correctly, a PIN is an option in windows for logon.
I have a pin but have to enter it with the touchscreen. D-pad doesn't output any numbers. On my Xbox and Xbox controller it lets me put in my PIN, I would expect it to work the same way on the Rog Ally.
Wanted to bring this one up again. Still use this interface on a handheld and its game changer for Windows devices. Rumor is that in testing, there is a way to add 3rd party games to this interface. Like, for example, if you install a GOG game that is not in the GOG galaxy app, it will not show on the interface, so this new update is claimed to allow you to manually add this. Then allowing 3rd party programs, like ES-DE for emulation. All this kind of stuff needed to leave the interface to run this stuff. Anyone see any builds that have this option?
