Very interesting! I just purchase a PE2900 off of craiglist and check the warranty on the server and it was shippied July/2006. It come with server 2003 R2 STD. Now before i do the method above i just want to know if i would need to update the latest bios? I haven't check what version of bios i have on it maybe once i get home and also would it mess up any of my hardware or currupt my bios for some reason? Thanks. Hopefully it a harmless procedure.
I can run asset PASS:xx/xx without any problem, but when i run svctag 2.3 or svctag 3.4. It keep saying that "This utility not able to run on system" or something like that. I could not capture the exact error message, my BIOS is up the latest would that causing this problem. if it is what bios version am i suppose to be at. I got another message BIOS will clear after reboot, but never see any thing saying ALT + F at all. Anything that i did wrong or just my server won't take it.
