Dear Forum community, I have a Windows 7 Ultimate (BIE) installation - could I possibly make / purchase the Windows 8 upgrade for it? It's not a "legit" version however it shows Genuine. My next question: From my understanding the above mentioned can only work if a Windows 7 is pre-installed. Can I make a blank installation (format) using an MSDN iso of Windows 8 and activate it with the previously purchased key? Will that work? Some advise would be appreciated. Thank you, p
That wouldn't be any problem. Windows 8 just checks there is an older Windows version, either XP, Vista or Win 7, running on the computer and you could just go to even do a clean install. It doesn't matter the old version is activated or not. See the above! It will works and you could just use your new Key for legit activation.
