I know that this is an old thread, but I have a very similar issue. I'd like to somehow get the old interface back from XP (mostly to be able to right-click and initiate a serial interface). I've loaded the lastest drivers linked here and that's given me more options, but it still says that my palm pda that had always been able to handle a serial connection in XP can't in Windows 7.

When I try to update from Broadcom's site, the installer closes while trying to validate the device (I'm using a kensington 2.0 edr dongle). Last I checked this uses widcomm, but I could be wrong.

    Any suggestions?
