Not working with the image that I mounted. Any ideas? Code: DISM OS Provider: PID=1156 Failed to mount the remote registry. - CDISMOSServiceManager::SetWindowsDirectory(hr:0x80070020) DISM.EXE: Failed to set the windows directory to 'd:\offline\windows'. HRESULT=80070020 Edit: Oops.. User Error. I tried rebase on a 64-bit image that I mounted on a 32-bit system.
I did a comparison between Rebase and Dism++ after a fresh install of Win7 ESU + June. For the online winsxs, Rebase removed 1,644MB and dism++ 3,631MB. Also, Rebase took much longer to finish the cleanup. CleanInstall: 4,954,553 c:\Windows\winsxs after rebase: 3,310,884 c:\Windows\winsxs after dism++: 1,323,384 c:\Windows\winsxs Rebase did a better job on the offline image used for the install, but only removed about 500MB from it. Dism++ did not find much to remove in that image. No idea why though.
I have seen about Windows 7 patch curing and rebasing tools on the MDL forum, but when I visit the download link of Google Cloud Disk, the result is 404. If anyone has a patch curing tool, please share it. If There are better patch curing tools, I hope all the powerful forum friends can popularize science
Does anyone have an archived copy available? The link provided in the original post is dead. My winsxs folder seems to be taking up around 45GB.
