But what type of Win7 Enterprise version do you have? A trial, beta, rc, retail or what? What build number do you have? If you have build 7600, you can try using cmd as Administrator, and type: slmgr -upk (wait for message that the key is uninstalled) slmgr -skms 127.0.0.1:1688 Then run the KMS 5.0 application again.
I heard that this can happen with machines that have a SLIC table in the BIOS. Doesnt seem to affect all machines though, because mine has a SLIC table in the BIOS too and i have no problems with the Volume Editions at all. Would be interesting to know what the deciding factor is here... EDIT: The deciding factor is the Windows Marker. No Marker - No Volume Activation.
Yes, it build 7600. I've already try what you said and still no luck About what version of Enterprise I have, I really don't know. This is the full name of it "Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise x86 Integrated September 2010". Is there a way I can activate it? thank you
Did it work? And what did you to get it to work? And only a tip, use the Thanks button on post that helped you, easy for other to see who that helps out..
no, it didn't. I still get the same error. Guess I don't have any choice but to get a fresh copy and reinstall
Yes, I have used the commands. Too bad I can't get this one to work, so guess I'll do the trial thing.
Read the article again? If there is a SLIC in the BIOS, but it is lacking the Windows Marker, then, and only then, you will get this error. Ergo: His BIOS has a SLIC table but the SLIC table has no Windows Marker. Solution: Add the Marker.
Ok, so I have a Marker on my virtual computer shown over? Where can I see that, so I know it when I try to help somebody in the future...
You still dont understand. This is not affecting systems with no SLIC table at all. (Like a VM.) It only affects systems with a SLIC table that has no Marker.
Technically KMSA 5.0 should work with all systems. I have used it on SLIC-less VMs as well as SLICed real machines without any problems so there cant be any general issues with it. The only exception should therefore be the above mentioned case, because in that case the missing marker doesnt allow VL activation at all.
In response to your edit: Try to repeat the activation request a couple of times. Most of the times it works after 2 or 3 tries. 8007000D is a known issue with the host emulator.
Tried repeating the activation 25 times now, still the same error. In the process setting up a new VM with the retail version of Windows 7 Enterprise and will see how it goes there. I have used KMS 5.0 successfully before, but not on the trial version.
