Ok am using Win8 & Ex7forW8 and only trying to get transparency in win7 shell and haven't used Win8RP Hack have changed colour away from auto and rebooted repeatedly still missing something here As for editing the reg manually I haven't done that before so not sure how to go about it I am sure i am nearly there
A hack for a hack appeared, wow! Obviously anything popular will be cracked, heh, look at the Windows itself. I see nothing bad in it. There are plenty of other free solutions, so if someone don't want to pay - he can just use something else. Why use something cracked if there are free equivalents? (Most people won't even understand the difference.) On the other hand, why not free way with ad infested installer and donate button? No one will crack something already free and with huge popularity this way could be more profitable in the long run.
ok got it working thanks one quetion how do i get the maximum transparency or is 00000001 as transparent as you can go ?
Pretty stupid, from what Tihiy has posted that verstion is likely to stop working soon anyway after a few Windows updates, even without the time limitation.
Yeah I hate to say it but I seen it coming a mile away! a hack for a hack. OP just work on it if you like for free, but as you stated to me "you can do as you want" BTW I'll gladly pay for it when you feel it's finished.
Yep you got my support as well, I will be paying for this or sending a donation, whichever you decide when you feel it's complete
@Tihiy Great work keep it up. StartIsBack Beta 1 This is much better. View attachment 18184 View attachment 18185 All we need now is Transparency in the Themes.
Hi, thanks for your good work so far. You should get a nobel price for saving all the people that want to use an efficient os and not just post crap on FB or twitter. But I do have a question. Why are there no virus detections in beta 0 and 12 of 43 hits in beta 1? Just wondering what you changed to make such a drastic difference.
Loving the changes in this one mate, everything working fine that I can see so far, the transparency options for the taskbar and start menu are a very nice addition as well, thanks for adding those, it will mean making themes will be so much better for us now. The new uncluttered Start screen also looks so much better and now desktop programs only show where they need to be, on the desktop Edit: I would like to ask for another option to have the start Screen as default at boot up as well as some may prefer it.
Ok, just out of curiosity, is there anything in particular that would make this better than the free Classic Shell...???
@Rickkins Ex7forW8: I think Ex7forW8 is becoming obsolete as Tihiy does not seems to be working on it anymore. Ex7forW8 very easy to install & forget about & use. Ex7forW8 is a addon but seems to be closest thing to the real start menu FROM Win7 for Win8.(Real Deal Win7) StartIsBack: StartIsBack very easy to install & forget about & use. StartIsBack seems to be closest thing to the real start menu in win8. (Real Deal Win8) Classic Shell: Classic Shell is a addon (Not the Real Deal). Classic Shell to many settings. Classic Shell is ugly even with windows 7 look. In my opinion. @ace2
Ex7forW8 and StartIsBack uses MS code. If you want to use some other persons code then knock yourself out. People here would rather have an OEM experience. You asked why Ex7forW8was better. You got your answer. Classic Shell runs slow and looks bad. Although, I'm not sure why you had to ask. Just use it and decide for yourself.
the real advantage is that this is using native Windows code, it's the real Startmenu, not some look-a-like
Myself and most people here. That's who. False. It does not do everything. No user tile and the search is not fully integrated into Windows indexing and Classic Shell ignores all Domain level integration. It is flat out unusable for many situations. If you like it, you use it. It's not for everyone. At any rate, this thread is NOT for discussing which is better. This thread is for Tihily's projects. Please take your pissing contest somewhere else.
