Windows 7-Hanging Boot

    Hey zort thanks for your help man and the rest at MDL.

    But SLIC is not a big issue, the main thing is that my windows 7 might fail to install again with my nvidia gpu, so i'll again have to do it with the onboard gpu and then again install the drivers for win 7.

    I'll let you know, what happens next !

    Then I would suggest you unplug your USB drive before booting.:D:D

    That or disable any options to boot to a usb hdd in the bios.

    But i havent set usb as first boot device
    and it doesnt try to boot from usb it simply hangs on the win7 shiny bootscreen if theres usb-hdd drive plugged in...

    and yes i have to unplug them every time i reboot my laptop - annoying..

    why do you need a bios update for a graphics card,why not just a driver.

    i flashed my bios with slic 2.1 after i installed win 7,i have had no problems,i was always wondering why he was removing it in the first place.,

    You're not getting it Pauldamo,

    Drivers are not loaded during the initial O/S boot. After POST only drivers required for a successful O/S boot are loaded into the memory. This includes my GPU BIOS.

    If the BIOS has a problem in the first place, it will stall the boot and will result in a crash or a memory leak.
