    1) using hashtab or hashcalc, calculate SHA1 and CRC of the ISO and compare them with the official.
    2) when burning the dvd, active the post-write verification.
    3) update your bios
    4) do a memtest86+ to check for ram problems.
    5) do a full scan of the hard disk with hd tools from the manufacturer (like SeaTools from Seagate).

    P.S.: trollmeter is over 50%

I'm downloading a different image from a direct link that someone posted on here. It's the x86 untouched version. Tomorrow I will be buying some different DVD's and I will burn it at the slowest speed and hopefully it will be complete!

Did you wait a bit when it locked ?

Windows setup is picky with some bios , with some it takes long to go past welcome when installing , or after you select install , or after the expanding .

Make sure it's not a case of that :)

seriously we don't need to know your progress at every step. It needlessly creates posts and just wastes other peoples time.

If you think people care that much about the inane s**t you do start a blog or go use twitter.

this step took about 30 minutes on my machine as well - then, all of a sudden it startet installing just fine (writing this lines in Win7).
start again, then leave it alone for some hours. If its still at 0%, considering it a bogus image/burn.

Yeah was pretty shocked when cme across the first board that did that , but oh well , it's just the pain of installing , then it will all be fine .

yeah I have had certain systems where I am like WTF I know this HDD is good and it sits there on expanding files for a long time. Then all the sudden it will go. I don't know if it is chipset or SATA/IDE drivers. I have had better luck installing from USB/Network than from optical media.

Heh sadly my last board also does it (Dfi ut-t3eh8) .

When it starts it will stay in welcome for a good while , then i select the language etc and click install and same thing , then it does it on expanding as well .

Had some other systems that did that in the past , ah well it's a pain but at least everything works fine after that .
