In this release of the vc 2010 redists, both the x86 and x64 install not only the normal files but a msp patch file as well.

I would like to update the vc runtime installer with these new updates, plus the latest 2008 and 2005 runtimes. Previously I was assisted with the runtime extractions so to greatly minimise the size of the archive. This wasn't just the redists extracted, but the redists in the final format (windows & program files folders).

I just released I hadn't acknowledged who this was, as I did have a readme.txt file in the folder that I must have accidentally deleted before I posted it, so I have no idea who it was! (sorry about that)! I was wondering whether the same could be done with the latest updates, since I couldn't work out how to do it! It seems the files have changed slightly. I tried looking for who it was but couldn't find it!

The help would be greatly appreciated, and this time I'll definitely remember to acknowledge the person who gave me the updated files :) Thanks!

I don't know whether this is related to an update, or a program that I uninstalled, but after I restarted I found a program I use that requires msvcr71.dll came up with an error that it was missing. It was definitely there earlier, but in any case if people could check if it exists on the computer before and after installing all the updates (including the .NET updates and the latest 2010 c++ runtimes), just to see if there is an 'oversight' by Microsoft!...

I did manage to get msvcr71.dll again, although not sure if 7.10.3052.4 is the most recent version or not!

@burfadel - I don't have that problem after updating. I still have the same file version of msvcr71.dll (7.10.3052.4)

I think you are referring to me, I gave you slimmed down versions of the vc installers

Maybe tomorrow I can do it or post instructions on how to do this (its the same as the .net4 installers)

August 2011 cumulative time zone update, the links in the KB article seem to point incorrectly, the two ID numbers below should work (x86 and x64)
    support.microsoft.com/kb/2570791

sorry I can't include URLs in my post, go the Microsoft download site, choose any win7 download item and modify the URL after the .asp? like
    details.aspx?id=27059
    details.aspx?id=27013

seems like you can 'explore' the download site by changing the id= number yourself

So it looks from what SoLoR is saying that there are still more NET4 update changes to come. After he gets ready sorting these I'll make another updated NET4 installer using Rick's latest slimmers+icons.

Has anyone found the updated IE9 installer?
Or is MS being lazy and it has not been uploaded yet?

I ask because there is the new cumulative security update for IE9 and when the previous one came, the IE9 installer was updated too.

Many thanks.I saved these links as bookmarks.Next time Cumulative Security update comes,i'll give it a day or so.Then download and compare hashes.

    Btw what's with KB2536276?

    I have:
    KB2536276
    KB2536276-v2 (newer)

Shouldn't the non-v2 version be superseded?
burfadel's script does not show KB2536276 (non-v2) as superseded.

    EDIT:
I also seem to be having KB2519400 that should be superseded by KB2519400-v3 (non-v3 not listed as superseded by the script)
