some updates are *.exe files. were these updates also included in your Microsoft .NET Framework v4.0.30320 Client - Updated Aug 10, 2011 - 39.5MB??? NDP40-KB2160841-x64.exe NDP40-KB2416472-x64.exe NDP40-KB2446708-x64.exe NDP40-KB2468871-v2-x64.exe NDP40-KB2487367-x64.exe NDP40-KB2533523-x64.exe NDP40-KB2539636-x64.exe
Actually those KB's are also in .msp format as far as I can see, and yes some of these KB's are included. Others on the list you mention seem superseded already. Unless we missed something it should be up to date. @Ricktendo: To be honest I do that and then see a huge list of things that is unintelligible to me. So for now we have an ugly uninstall icon
401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials. You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied. is all i get when trying to access the site..
I suspect the cause of the error is due to either the DisplayIcon.ico file listed in the File table or some other Setup file but did not have the time to sort out deleting them one by one (its better to delete the files anyway since their components have bee removed and they serve no purpose, it doesn't hurt to leave them either in other situations)
Rick, after deleting all the Installer_*, NetFxRepair_* and SetupUtility_* entries under Components, I still get that error running the administrative install. So unless you have any advice I'll leave it as it is for now.
Yeah, same thing Rick, I think either more needs to be deleted besides those 3 Component entries or something else is wrong. It's saying it 'appears to be a MSI package but extraction failed' during administrative install.
SoLoR: just a note, the following 2 updates were preset in the previous x86 pack of August 10 but not the current revised list you uploaded (the folder with loose x86 updates): Windows6.1-KB2205122-v2-x86.msu Windows6.1-KB2397190-x86.msu But the x64 versions of these updates are present in your revised x64 folders so I'm assuming you accidentally did not re-upload them to the resvised x86 folder?
Looks like a whole lot more updates and some new versions of existing updates released Of course, its up to SoLoR when they get done, there are too many to go through manually!
The 120-120-71 is correct When installing the LDR versions of updates the GDR version also needs to be installed for continuity, so the updates that contain both GDR and LDR versions get tallied as 2 updates and are installed separately which is a required function of installing it without using the MSU file. The following is just an example and does not reflect the actual GDR and LDR update numbers. Say there are 200 updates total, and 111 of them contain both GDR and LDR updates. If you were just to install the update.mum file, meaning the GDR versions (or LDR only), you would install just 200 of them. If you were to force install the LDR versions as well (which the installer does), you need to install the update-bf.mum files, of which in this example there are 111. So, in total, you are installing 311 updates. The updates are split into 120 update lots, otherwise the dism command line gets too long! I might change the title bar to reflect the number of GDR, LDR, and total, something along the lines of 'List 1 of 3, Updates: GDR 200, LDR 111, Total 311'
