Anyone faced long installation updates 28 august?
it took 45minutes to finish on my core 2 duo 3ghz, normally only ten minutes.
any explaination for this? and i had even antivirus disabled.

What updates did you install, just couple from 28 Aug or the complete 28 Aug pack? What method did you use for installation?

I install only Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Use the 'Installer For Windows Updates V21 test4f' as it is faster than v20, the 'test' part for the installer section is complete and no reports of any issues with it. Its just still a 'test' version until the integration feature is added and confirmed working, something which I'll hopefully have time to do this weekend.

After installing all the updates, don't forget to run 'USB KB2529073 Fix v4a'. It is necessary due to a bug which Microsoft have somewhat 'fixed', however installing the updates for the latest file versions reverts some of the files back to the wrong versions, still necessiting the need for the fix, at least for now.

After you install all the updates, reboot, run the fix, then reboot again.

    Excel:
    csi-x-none.msp
    excel-x-none.msp
    expxps-x-none.msp

    Powerpoint:
    oart-x-none.msp
    oartconv-x-none.msp
    powerpoint-x-none.msp

    Word:
    word-x-none.msp
    wordbs-x-none.msp

    Office:
    mso-x-none.msp
    name-x-none.msp
    stslist-x-none.msp
    stsupld-x-none.msp

Thats basically it, I have missed one or two under those though! Even though you don't have Access, Outlook etc installed, the updates may still apply... I believe maybe in case you decide to add those components later. In any case, installing all the updates won't be harmful. Those which are likely to be applicable are:

(note, this list includes the 31 August Office updates):
    Code:
    access-x-none.msp
    ace-x-none.msp
    acewss-x-none.msp
    csi-x-none.msp
    excel-x-none.msp
    expxps-x-none.msp
    filterpacksp1-en-us.msp
    gfx-x-none.msp
    graph-x-none.msp
    groove-x-none.msp
    infopath-x-none.msp
    infopathpc-x-none.msp
    ipeditor-x-none.msp
    mso-x-none.msp
    name-x-none.msp
    oart-x-none.msp
    oartconv-x-none.msp
    oleo-x-none.msp
    outexum-x-none.msp
    outlfltr-x-none.msp
    outlook-x-none.msp
    powerpoint-x-none.msp
    stslist-x-none.msp
    stsupld-x-none.msp
    targetdir-x-none.msp
    vviewer-x-none.msp
    word-x-none.msp
    wordbs-x-none.msp

I did not understand, sorry for my English ....

must run the .exe "Office 2010" (not available on the repo?) and choose the modules that we want to install, right?
and install the updates available on the repo, that's right or not?

    thanks :)
