Thats correct, install the components that you want, then the updates most updates are application specific, but some (which I had labelled as just 'Office') are for the Office apps in general. Basically, install all the updates and if they aren't applicable it will tell you so. The list I posted above is for the standard Office Pro (without Project etc installed).
Im guessing SP2 comes when Win8 comes (whenever in 2012 that will be). Generally that's how it's been lately: XP SP3 - Vista Vista SP2 - Win7 Win7 SP2 - Win8?
SoLoR has just updated with the latest updates from 31 August. SoLoR updates the whole lot again, but only some of the updates are actually newer than before. The actual newer updates which most will find relevant are: Code: excel-x-none.msp graph-x-none.msp mso-x-none.msp ace-x-none.msp word-x-none.msp outlook-x-none.msp access-x-none.msp oart-x-none.msp oartconv-x-none.msp powerpoint-x-none.msp csi-x-none.msp stsupld-x-none.msp name-x-none.msp outexum-x-none.msp There are some other newer files, but most won't find them relevant to a normal Office 2010 Pro installation.
well i always update everything for "client"... updates that are not applicable wont install anyway...
Ah ok! its not longer in the repository and the following is in applyhotfixes.cmd: Code: if /i %%A == NDP40-KB971891.msp ( echo Skipping Hotfix "%%A", not needed... In regards to the other issue, I made the simple mistake of not applying those two updates (as well as another two) to the extended part, since I was making an Net framework extended installer. EDIT: they still show!
Using SoLoRs prepped image. Maybe I'll give the extended framework a miss since I probably won't be needing it...
You can also read the tutorial I wrote based on the info from Ricktendo, I posted it in my last couple of NET4 posts here, it's easy to understand. Just saying because a lot of people couldn't understand Ricktendo's instructions and started PM'ing me on how to do this. Hehe, I couldn't really understand him myself either but after a lot of back and forth with him and trial and error I got it crystallized out; the other info is kind of scattered in this thread, so that is why I wrote that tutorial. Plus it still has the links in there to the original mst's (without icon) so they will work.
Cool thanks, I'll give that a try a bit later! You installer is fine btw, and for my attempts it was only those two updates which weren't applying. In terms of the Windows update installer and adding the integration feature, I was going to do that tomorrow (Sunday), however now going to the Royal Adelaide Show tomorrow instead of later in the week due to the other peoples commitments, so will have to apologise for another delay in getting it sorted!
