ye i know... some updates do not install from CMD, even tho they seems to install fine and everything and dont error out... its wierd... not sure why MS does not just release standard *msu updates and we need to have this crap...
Just a liitle note, man is IE9 ever nice, even in beta, QUICK! I absolutely love it. Oh, and if you install the 64-bit flashplayer IE9 (x64) can be run in place of the 32-bit version...all hardware accelerated, optimized for IE9 with no concerns so far. Finnally, I slipstreamed IE9 as a package via DISM when I made up a new ISO based on SoLor's Sept. 15 repository. First I added all the IE8 updates to integrate with all the others, then, in a separate operation integrated IE9. Now, if one uninstalls IE9, IE8 will be up-to-date. Integrating IE9, vs standalone install, yields more features in Internet Options and Group Policy.
I personaly wont bother with IE8 anymore... if some page wont work in ie9, ill just use chrome nightly just just download and unzip, no install needed.. but currently all pages work since the ones that dont, they work in compatibility mode (except damn genuine validation, but i dont care about it).
I'm hearin' ya' on that; I disable compatability mode completely in Group Policy-have for a long time now; not only for IE, but, also for Windows (PCA, both in GP and services.msc; no end to the grief with it and I do not run any app that does not fully support 7, however, nothing will lock up a game quicker...and those annoying "did this program install correctly..." popups when there is nothing wrong whatsoever. Whosoever does not support late IE8 or IE9 does not need me to visit. I do not like the third party stuff; personal preference is all knowing full well there is nothing wrong with the optional browsers. I really believe M$ has a complete winner here though; add to that Adobe is finnally coming to the party with 64-bit flash....I'm gettin' tingly!!!LOL. The 64-bit IE has always been faster than 32-bit...it just litterally screams now.
There is still issue with lack of 64bit silverlight and i guess all other addons (like for example bing/google toolbar) will need to be made for 64bit as well... and ofc MS needs to allow making 64bit IE as default, currently this is probably only possible with some kind of registry hack.
I was looking through the installed updates, it seems when IE9 is installed, the IE8 specific updates are automatically uninstalled. Just wondering whether that is correct or did I miss something? It would be good if it were true...
Yep, you're right burfadel; I just went through it and even when slipstreamed the IE8 updates are gone...never thought to look-thanks for the headsup.
For those that have been waiting for the Office 2010 updates from the end of August/beginning of September, it looks like Microsoft have pulled most of the applicable Office 2010 updates, even those which were downloadable.
well... if you ask me no, if you ask 80% of others, then yes thing is i expect bugs in IE BETA, most of people expect beta product to work perfectly...
ok thank you for your reply I stay with IE8 yet, and I'll install the KB for IE8 also I tested IE9 and I don't like (for design, but it is faster)
I agree with SoLor, IE9 just rocks even in beta-and I have experienced a few minor bugs, no deal breakers, but, each to their own.
yes it is....
