I want to create a Office 2010 dvd iso with all the updates integrated. I've downloaded the x64-postSP1-2.3.2012.7z and x86-postSP1-2.3.2012.7z zip files.
My question is, my iso is the PT-PT iso language. Should i integrate all the files included in the zip files, or just the ones that have pt-pt in the filename?

    Thanks!

    Yes, to reiterate:
KB2608658 is applyable to both Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. Under Windows 7, only the sysbkup.dll component is updated whereas on Server 2008 R2 sis-filter is also updated.

    With KB2608658 installed, sysbkup.dll is 6.1.7601.21812, otherwise it is 'base' SP1 6.1.7601.17514

I've downloaded updates from SOLOR's repo and burfadel's latest script. Can you pls advise the proper way to install SOLOR's MSUs using burfadel's script?

Also, do I need to move the files from "LCD placeholders" into the root of update folder before running the scripts?

And the last question: How do you update Office 2010 using SOLOR's updates pack (x64-postSP1-2.3.2012.7z)?!?

    Thanks!!!

I've struck it where on a friends computer, SP1 wasn't installed before the patch updates...

But in any case, you definitely want to remove the packages which don't apply to your system (all the international stuff not related to your Office language, apart from proof-fr-fr.msp and proof-es-es.msp).

Using the \Updates folder is the way the Office 2010 is designed to install to SP1 (for initial install). I've never had a problem installing SP1 and the hotfix .msp's all at once this way.

And it's not crucial to remove packages which don't apply, since the installer will only install those that are applicable to the particular Office suite that's being installed. The international stuff can be left in the \Updates folder- they just won't be installed (unless they're applicable). But you're right- eliminating them will speed up the installation process.

In any case, you do great work here Burf and I respect your opinion. I was just pointing out another method that can be used to install updates for an initial install of Office. Your Office installer script is definitely the best method for users that already have Office installed and want to do a batch update.

Thanks! no worries :) its just something I came across, it could have just been one of those things in that situation! and you are right, I was mentioning removing the non-applicable updates possible for speed, and because they just take up a fair bit of space since not needed!

I guess the good thing is next time I need to nstall Office I know the slipstream method works
