The same goes for 85-90% of the updates in the repository...if you dont want optional updates then stick to what MS Update reccomends
I only use the Updates from Solor, but these 2 Updates are for specific problem if it does not have these problems, These updates do not need to be installed
EVERY hotfix at a point when t is released is usualy to fix _ONE_ specific problem. This is nature of hotfixes, so those 2 are no different then most of others.
ok thank you, I understand better as was indicated in the links, to install these updates if you met this problem, I thought that if they are installed without this problem, it could not be good ^^
news.softpedia.com/news/Windows-7-SP1-Close-to-RTM-Build-7601-17514-101119-1850-Signed-Off-174719.shtml
I've got several question regarding SP1, 1. After Upgrading to SP1 (Using SP1 RTM) (Whenever it gets released) should I Install all updates in Solor's or only any new ones that get released after release of SP1 RTM? 2. After Upgrading to SP1 (Using SP1 beta) How should I install new updates? (Just install new updates after the date of release of SP1 or in some other way?) 3. Can I install SP1 beta now and later update to RTM? 3.1. If Answer to #3 is Yes, then what other updates should I Install (or not) together with beta? 3.2. If Answer to #3 is No , then If I Install all of recent updates on a brand new Win7Pro x64 RTM now, Can I upgrade to SP1 (RTM) later? (And do I need to uninstall any of currently installed updates?)
Spoken like someone who doesn't produce builds It be nice to have an iso with integrated SP1 (or, to put it this way, a version of Windows that has been worked on for a year) as a basis to install from, wouldn't you say? Let me see, integrating 367 updates or SP1... tough
Microsoft added new hotfix for Windows 7 to their hotfix database on December 31, 2010. This hotfix include the update for Windows 7 SP1. The version number of the update is 6.1.7601.17529. I found following string in update.mum file. Therefore, SP1 RTM version number is 6.1.7601.17514.
so 6.1.7601.17514 is what MS will be releasing to public? and what would be the full string of this build ? hope this leaks asap
Seems like it... about full string i bet you can find it out on your self, considering its even mentioned on this page of forum posts...
Thing is Zukona NEVER definatly posted that SP1 went RTM, he didnt even posted any pics of "final" build, only thing zukona posted was EULA file name and everyone jumped to conclusion Its still not confirmed that SP1 actualy went RTM and what is build number...
I guess you are right, just because there is a hotfix available for that build does not mean its final, because there are many updates available for RC service pack 1
yes. However, hotfixes for SP1 RC include string "rc", such as Windows6.1-KB2296199-x86-RC.msu or Windows6.1-KB2296199-x86-RC.cab or package_for_kb2296199_rc_sp1~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~~6.1.1.0.mum. and new hotfixes added December 30/31, 2010 do not include string "rc". Furthermore, I cannot remember that Microsoft added hotfixes for SP1 RC to their hotfix database for public support. If Microsoft have added hotfixes for SP1 RC to there, they will not add hotfixes for SP1 build 7601.17514 that do not release formally to their hotfix database for public support. you can download new hotfixes from following: ttp://support.microsoft.com/hotfix/KBHotfix.aspx?kbnum=2482122 ttp://support.microsoft.com/hotfix/KBHotfix.aspx?kbnum=2489740 These hotfixes are labeled as "SP2".
