KB999158 and KB999159 have to be removed first before installing the new versions. I just have taken a look into it. I will upload it later on today because I just am doing a scan. Cheers
The files installed by the new update are older versions than the original KB999158 and KB999159. This new one installs .22002 but the old ones install .22176. So it looks like this newer update is superseded.
PointZero You also have to take a look at the file versions. The old file versions are 6.2.8400.0 and the new file versions are 6.2.9200.16384 That means the posted versions are newer and taken from Win8. Cheers
Mcrip means the actual installed files, not the versions listed in the .MSU. The installed version files are much more important, as these are the actual functioning part. The other number is... just a number! Files versions are 6.2.9200.16384 (Windows 8 RTM)
Correct. That's what I wanted to say. That means KB999158 and KB999159 have to be uninstalled first before installing the new file versions.
The finalisation of Windows 8 also means a few other things are completed for Windows 7 too, but the question will be availability, which may not be until Windows 8 is properly released. These components at least include: - Internet Explorer 10 - NET Framework 4.5 - Directx 11.1 update for Windows 7 (if they make it available for 7) - KB2506143 update
If people are wondering why the extracted .msp's are smaller, it's because the additional components for pre-SP1 support have been removed. These are no needed with SP1 installed (which it should be!).
