McRip, isn't KB2727101 a Server 2008 update only AND/OR if not installed, would it even show up in WU under Win7 x64? On my Win7 x64 install KB2727101 will not install (nor does it get offered on WU).
Thanks, but I ran everything in full admin mode but it wouldn't install. Other thing I noticed was that I had integrated KB2729094 in my Win7 x64 image and it shows as installed on my system, but when I run WU it shows as an optional update, even though it's already installed. When I then install it (apparently again) through WU, and then restart it does silence WU. If I just run the update manually the system tells me it's already installed so I can't install it. Other than these two oddities everything else is fine.
I ran straight out of built-in admin account on both real install and also on a VM install, both same result. Meaning, whatever I run has full admin privileges. So unless the .cmd does something the regular installer wouldn't by default? I'm kind of experimenting right now as I had for the first time integrated the WU-update cabs as well (to not get that forced update for WU), and that worked fine, just now ironing out the KB2729094 problem but I can't figure that one out. The KB2727101 neither, but if you say it will install on Win7 x64 for you then maybe something else is wrong on my end.
Either you disable UAC stuff and after reboot you double-click the cmd file or you call the cmd file via start-run-cmd (run as administrator), and then call it.
OK, well then something else must be wrong on my end I'll do another integration and test install with some of the recent changes from your repo, and I'll see if the Segoe UI update behaves better that time around and I'll also try the KB2727101 integration. Thanks for the help
Server 2008 is Vista. He means Server 2008 R2. And no, it is for Windows 7 as well. The KB articles from Microsoft are weird sometimes.
Thanks but I do not see this hotfix in your changelog EDIT: This hotfix does not apply on my Windows 7 x64
OK I figured out what was wrong with the 2729094: I had v1 not v2... Sorry, it must have been a leftover. Now on KB2727101 I still have the same situation where it will tell me 'not applicable' on the new VM install. Since I thought this was only a Server 2008r2/Win7 x64 update, how come this KB also exists in a x86 version (McRip's x86 repo folder has: Windows6.1-KB2727101-x86.msu)? I tried to find any info for a x86 version of this update but couldn't find anything. It's fine for me, I'll just not include that update on my x64 build, but when I saw the x86 one I thought I would mention in case it's wrong.
