It could be modified to do so (since those cab files use the standard WU layout) however, even with those 3 cab's installed you only have a partial update to the WU agent. If you look inside the 'WindowsUpdateAgent30' .exe installer (such as 'WindowsUpdateAgent30-x64.exe', you will see the 3 cab's, plus the rest of the files that aren't included in the cab installers. These other files are actually the backbone to Windowsupdate, without them the cab files are pointless. To install them, you have to run the WindowsUpdateAgent30-x64.exe (or WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe) installer anyway, making integration of these three cab's pointless. This also goes for online installations as well!
No there aren't . If you install updates, it is likely you will have pending update operations (to be completely upon reboot for locked files etc). Although you can uninstall updates after you have installed other updates with pending file operations (in the same Windows session) it isn't advisable to do so as you run a much greater risk of something going wrong such as an update not being applied correctly. It is for this reason that the uninstall option is disabled if there are pending file operations, making silent switches after installing updates pointless as you won't be able to uninstall the old updates anyway.
McRip, KB2604521-v2 is removed in your repo but still present in the repo of komm, it's error of komm? And I do not understand why the KB2685939 is in the folder "Satisfy WU", there is an update on the rdpwd.sys file (version 6.1.7601.21982) And komm, KB2695321-v2 and KB2706168 are présent on your repo, I think those hotfix are superseded, no? thanks
Hmm, so what you are saying applies to offline integration? I had integrated the 3 cabs into my Win7 x64 image but was not aware of any additional files needed. Or were you talking only about live installs of the update? If not I may consider integrating this update not via offline integration but installing it in VM and then performing a sysprep of that install.
No burf you are mistaken, those files outside the CAB's are ONLY for earlier XP/2003 systems. Integrating the 3 CAB's is all you need
It is possible that the update "KB2621146" can not join an offline image? PD: McRip repo not have this update
McRip, just a question- if the above is true wouldn't it also apply to 2584449, 2592525, 2647169, 2658846, 2704372, 2741355 & 2743155-v2? It looks like those were all removed due to the 6.2.9200.16440 version that 2670838 installed. Shouldn't those be re-added to the repo to keep the latest version of them for the original servicing stack? (I found these using KUC.) Other things: 2685939 is needed for the latest windows-t..dp-winstationdriver (.21982). 2732618-v2 is in repo but is superseded by 2745955 2689311 is in the .7z but should not be (is superseded) babt, komm has 2604521-v2 because it updates windows-kernel32.resources to the latest version (.21812). And he kept 2695321-v2 & 2706168 because they're not 100% superseded. Both add registry entries that are not added by subsequent hotfixes. So these three should probably be added to McRip's repo also.
Ooops! quite correct I can add it, I'll do so when I have some time later in the week. I take it the latest version is 7.6.7600.256?
Yes, 2685939 is needed. (in main folder, not Satisfy WU folder). komm deserves credit for this one- I didn't think it was needed originally. Yes- that MS link for 2506143 says that it requires .NET 4.0. According the KB article for 2749615, it updates a file from Windows Powershell 2.0 and Powershell 2.0 does not require .NET 4.0 (only an earlier version of .NET) so yes, it should install without .NET 4.0. But it may not be necessary unless 2506143 is installed, which does require .NET 4.0. (I do install it though, even though I don't install 2506143.)
@bapt: Yes, this is the KB2670838 update. I assume it's not included in KUC because it is a beta/pre-release update.
Maybe it is just you who don't read komm's posts in the Windows 7 and Windows 8 repository threads ... The files are there but you can only download them with KUC at the moment ...
@komm Do you consider re-adding the folder view soon? It's a pity third-party tools like Win Toolkit cannot access komm's servers without folder view.
