There is no problem with the installer, its up to you what version you prefer. Ask yourself if you want to save disk space by not having the SetupCache folder or you don't care...BTW
McRip, I can't access: hotfix2.cesidian.info win8.cesidian.info burf.cesidian.info Are these currently down?
In the past I have never integrated KB947821 into my images. Is this possible and/or necessary? Thanks in advance for any comments.
New VC++ Runtime Installer will be uploaded once the websites start working again (updated VC 2012 runtimes)
28.11.2012 Added: KB2762895 KB2779562 KB947821-v25 (Additional/KB947821.System.Update.Readiness.Tool) Removed: KB2492386 KB2769756 KB947821-v24 (Additional/KB947821.System.Update.Readiness.Tool) Sometimes a server needs reboots especially after some system updates. During that time a server is not available.
parapher, it's not necessary to integrate KB947821. My understanding is that it's only useful for when certain problems with Windows Update occur. It will then attempt to fix things. Integrating it wouldn't help since it needs to be run after problems with WU occur. So you're doing it right by leaving it out.
Not only for after problems arise. It also prevents potential problems so running this after installing the monthly updates is a good idea. And it's not so much about the WU but more about the servicing stack (whatever that is).
Sorry for the late reply. I was pretty much busy. We had a death in the family. I re-added this hotfix but forgot to mention it in the changelog. After checking several details regarding this hotfix I noticed that it is not superseded. Sorry for all inconveniences.
This hotfix KB2739286, update which files? I looked, and most of the files in this hotfix have versions equivalent or oldest, in my windows. The newer file is the "dismhost", but after the install and reboot, the version of the file has not changed in System32\Dism If someone can explain to me Thanks
Yea, I know its weird But sometimes I notice if you look in the %temp% folder while you are integrating using dism you will see that the version that is being used is the latest (or at least the latest that's integrated into the image you are servicing)
Has anyone tried using DISM files from Win8 in Win7? Will it work and what folder contents needs to be copied...
