Thanks McRip; something along the lines of what Komm was forced to do and it seems to have worked for him...bandwidth wise. Just got up too and made one hell of a good cup of coffee-only in Canada you say???!!!!
I have just decided to only allow the downloads for WinToolkit and the app from Alaphawaves. I am just working on it and testing it. The service will be online a bit later because of testing. I'll keep you posted.
I'm sitting here having my 1st cup of coffee and reading the latest events with complete disgust for these lame jackoff's that keep doing this... I am almost speechless. I'm sure we all wish we could help you in anyway possible. A colleague of mine is a security expert for a very large banking firm, I have no idea if there is anything he can help with but if you are interested I will PM you and see if I can put you in direct contact... just let me know.
I am definitely not ready to implement IE10 yet for client images (I will use it for mine though) so I am wondering what pre-req's, etc should I be installing to satisfy WU and be completely patched short of IE10
McRip, one request - please keep public the changelog .txt for repositories, and maybe other info .txt files found on your server. Very useful at least the changelog. Thanks.
The server will be online in the next two days. Please let me do my job first. Do not force anything. Thanks in advance.
I doubt they would resort to such low tactics. It could also be hackers themselves who dont want people to get latest security fixes ahead of time (until released by MS) so they can exploit those holes until MS fixes them. I must admit im against bandwidth limiting in any way. BTW McRip does this affect main hotfixes or Burfadel stuff too?
You're concern is overwhelming! ; McRip just stated a few replies back to leave him alone; all will be ready as he sees fit when it's ready.
..for 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate KB2670838-x64, [KB2726535-x64 and KB2729094-v2-x64 (in GDR and LDR)]; and [KB2786081-x64 (in LDR)]
A standalone downloader with a unique identifier such as with WinToolkit/Windows Download Intergrator with a 'file manager', such that one can view the changelog (expanding dialogue on the left with Win 7, Win 8, Office 2010, Office 2013 x86/x64, and the file list on the right with checkboxes to download? Not sure whether that would actually be effective or not, but in principle it sounds good. Of course, even if it would be effective, it actually needs to be made! Just throwing around ideas, I'm not suggesting that it's possible, practical, or viable.
I just wrote an email to lego, creator of wintoolkit, that he has the wrong folder structure for office 2013. I guess he will fix it in his next version. I have an open mind about suggestions.
Now i can't download W8 updates anymore, even with windows toolkit, on site redirects to microsoft.com (!)
