First of all, thanks for all the wishes. I appreciate that very much.

Secondly, peeps being not able to connect to the server should please read my statement some posts back.

China and some more netblocks from asia have been banned through the firewall due to immense ddos attacks. And I won't make any compromises. If I discover any ddos attacks in the log files from other servers or countries I'll block those servers or netblocks (not the whole country).

    Please bear with me!

McRip Do you still have plans to include the satisfy windows update folder in the program download checks (main or additional directory) ?

Yes. But let me be in hospital first. I have to prep too many things at the moment.

Some people seem to think the problems with 2670838 concerns mobile graphics (laptops, etc.) while someone said it may be due to a conflict with catalyst extras (in other words install drivers only). Whatever the case, surely MS will address this. This update is too juicy to neglect, if the present version causes you grief, I would certainly try installing any newer versions of this that MS may/should release.

Yeah, I read some people were talking about having problems on NVIDIA graphics systems as well. The official MS response so far seems to have been along the lines of it being a problem of Intel and AMD hybrid graphics, so I'm interested to learn what the true scope of the issue is. I must confess my tests have been more in VM's than they have been in real installs, so that doesn't prove much on my end.

Does this work with DISM updates also? because those damn updates are HUGE in Win8, and with it backing up all the uninstalls, it makes my releases very large.
Hmm... I'll play with it, but I really would appreciate some advice from others as to how safe it would be.

*edit: I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but is there an offline or online update for that matter for the Win7 Windows Update self-update thing?
I noticed there was a package installed when I looked at things in DaRT.

Does anyone have a link or know how to find a link to any MS download for any such package?

that's the thing... I am running the latest drivers.... it's absurd that I have to uninstall the video drivers first before I install that update.... I refuse to do this as it is counter intuitive to the idea of Windows Update and that it is a big waste of time

It sounds like you may have been happier before KB2670838 came along :)
