2757588 is x64 only, and only partially supersedes 2561821. Or this is what I understand from the KB info. Also, 2757588 is a little tricky, if I remember correctly it's not integratable (via DISM / Win Toolkit), and you have to unarchive it and copy those two files directly to their location in the install ''root''. And I don't know if it will help you in solving your problem - why not give it a try

Even though they are about the same amount of updates for x64 as for x86, the lists are not exactly the same as some updates are x64 and/or x86 only, or different WU-satisfy updates are required. The lists include WU-satisfy updates, but not 'additional' updates such as RSAT and IIS and what have you. I incorporated the latest changes by Komm and RicaNeaga, and it is further based on McRip's archives and changes. I will do some VM installs and install the updates and verify what WU offers afterwards, if anything. I'll use Burfadel's latest v27j installer to do so I opted for IE9, and so left out IE10 but kept 4 out of 5 of its prerequisite updates. KB2670838 was left out due to its many issues. Thanks for this info But still the same problem to install W7 (I replaced the file "bootmgfw.efi" of the 2561821 with the file of 2757588, in Windows\Boot\EFI) I am obliged to replace the original file to W7
After installing Win7 x64 in VM (with IE9) and installing all the updates in the above x64 list with Burfadel's v27j script (LDR mode where possible), WU offered 5 updates: critical: 2658846 (was not in my list) (now added) 2757638 (was in my list -- WU, GDR, or manual install needed) optional: 2670838 (platform update, IE10, etc.) (ignored) 2492386 (was not in my list) (now added) 2786400 (was in my list -- WU, GDR, or manual install needed) So as noted, I added KB2658846 and KB2492386 to the list as WU offered them. Also, as indicated, KB2757638 and KB2786400 were in the list but WU still offered them. So either the script installed LDR mode and WU was not satisfied, or these updates did not take well to installation via script. KB2670838 is still offered as optional update by MS, but because of its problems and because I used IE9 I did not install it. The x64 list in my previous post will be updated to include KB2658846 and KB2492386 and will include notes behind KB2757638 and KB2786400. All edits will be done in bold for ease. One more note: of the IE9 updates as included by NicaReaga, KB2488113 (x64) was indicated as 'not applicable' and thus would not install. It was also not offered on WU afterwards. ...Now testing a x86 install...
