It does thankyou! It means that Pointzero, McRip, Komm, and myself can change the way we handle Windows Update satisfaction. The only thing we have to do now is gather all the express updates for Windows 7 and 8 that are necessary. For Windows 8 at least, there may be a couple of express updates per normal update, just like there were a couple of normal update MSU's per KB number. I hope that makes sense, I'm sure at least Pointzero and McRip know what I mean. I did have all the Express updates valid for Windows 8 x64 for me, but in my ultimate wisdom accidentally deleted them . Basically I made sure that I didn't need to download anything from WU, then uninstalled all WU satisfy updates completely from my system, then just installed the LDR versions of those updates, restarted ran Windows update, gathered the express updates, installed those, rechecked Windowsupdate, and downloaded the remaining express updates. Due to the nature of WU satisfaction I had to do this. The good news is that monthly maintenance of these express updates will be quite a bit easier than this, and the space saving is worth it. McRip, Komm, what do you think?
Makes sense! I have confirmed all the required WU Satisfy updates for Windows 7 and 8 have express cabinets. The main hassle is in the changeover! I'm sure there is some way to directly download the express cabinets without knowing the download address beforehand, just not sure what it is.
I found a solution to get the direct download links. It bothered me all the time tonight. In a few days, as I said before, I will investigate it a bit deeper, when I have the time for it. @ Burf: I'm gonna contact you tomorrow because I need some more information from you. Not know. It's bedtime here... Cheers

WU_Satisfy will be reorganized in the next few days. We will serve you with an install script as well in order to install in GDR mode to satisfy Windows Update. WinToolkit seems to have problems with installing the files in GDR mode. You will be notified when it's ready.
Can you please be more specific? The reason I'm asking is both my curiosity and that I'll try to give Lego a message on this via IM. If you don't have his IM id I'll forward it to you in a pm, as asking on wincert doesn't seem such a good ideea at the moment, he's on vacation again (others gave feedback regarding issues with windows 8 integrating). Also, again please make two separate sub-folders in the WU-Satisfy, so people won't have to be dependant on your install script (I'm thinking ahead, when WinToolkit will have its issues solved); folders named smth like ''GDR & LDR'' (with the several hotfixes that are needed for users that select the GDR path / use WinToolkit) and ''LDR only''. Thanks.
We can't be more specific right now because we are still in testing phase. Please be a little more patient.
Also the whole repo is designed for LDR installs. The WU_Satisfy directory is only for people who fume at Windows Updates that are shown up!!! Normally this directory is useless, because, as I said, it is designed for LDR installs.
I was reffering to the WinToolkit issues - I also noticed some issues on GDR integrating (more WU needed to be satisfied hotfixes than usual), was curious what you've concluded, and ready to report them further to Legolash. But I'm patient. Also, I was hoping that you'd finally take a more ''comprehensive'' look regarding the GDR WU satisfying ''issues'' (that consist of only several hotfixes popping up in WU after integration / installation). WinToolkit users are bound to the GDR branch even when integrating in LDR mode, so that's why I consider it important. But it's your call.
Rica are you saying that WinToolKit doesn't integrate any updates in LDR? Currently I am trying to understand why I use McRip's updates with WinToolKit yet when I run the KUC I have so many corrections to make.

WinToolkit doesn't integrate ONLY the LDR branch of the hotfixes when selecting the ''LDR only smth'' from WinToolkit's options; it installs BOTH LDR and GDR branches, so as far as WU satisfying is concerned, the same hotfixes are always needed for both situations (when integrating normally and also via the LDR option). Until the latest build of WinToolkit, I always got ~ 7 hotfixes needed to satisfy WU, but now I got ~ 20+, so there is definitely something wrong, either with WU, or WinToolkit. Probably the latter. Hope I made myself clear
Do the following, run cmd as admin and type and delete some files: net stop wuauserv net stop bits delete all files inside the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download directory delete the DataStore.edb into C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore net start bits net start wuauserv After all this rerun Windows Update and the correct number of updates will be shown to you that have to installed as GDR installs. Just a reminder: Normally you do not need this, when everything is forced to be installed as LDR...
