The server is under heavy ddos attacks again. It may happen that the server will be shut down for a day or so. I am working on this issue.
Thanks for the wonderful effort. Mega wants me to switch browsers to anything but IE 10 before it will allow me to download-that ain't gonna' happen
@tomorrow Checked the contents of your x86 archive with the ones from McRip's x86 server and also with komm's app. Imporant: if you've added some satisfy WU updates in it, please make a separate folder for them. You have the following updates extra from the ones in McRip's server and also from the ones in komm's server (they're 99,999% superseded), so please delete them and re-upload: KB979900 KB979916 KB982307 KB983590 KB2387530 KB2393802 KB2416471 KB2419640 KB2467023 KB2483614 KB2519946 + KB2524840 (VPC related) KB2556532 KB2579274 KB2639308 KB2735855 KB2641634 KB2655992 KB2454826 KB2512715 KB2757638 Updates I'm not sure are superseded - not in McRip's server, but present in komm's: KB2510531, KB2690750 Updates that belong in a WU Satisfy sub-folder: KB2547666, KB2676562 (and also please add to that sub-folder KB2446710, KB2492386, KB2644615, KB2685939, KB2762895, KB2791765, KB2808679, KB2813347, KB2849470, KB2859537, KB2861855, KB2862966, KB2863058, KB2868116, KB2872339 and KB2876315 - this is McRip's list, however komm's is different, because he has some of the mentioned here hotfixes in the main folder) Also, you have KB2870699 present in the archive, but no IE .cab??? You need to add some updates that are present in McRip's server, and not in your archive: KB2719985, KB2801244-v2, KB2803821-v2 and KB2846340-v2. Nice effort though, there's a great need for an archive with all the updates. But please make the above ''corrections''.
Thank you for your feedback. My answers are below: I havent knowingly added any WU satisfy updates and do not plan to in the future. My goal is main folder + IE10 and a few things that need offline integration. If they're superseded you should talk to burfadel instead. I rely on his script to remove the superseded updates. Talk to McRip about this. I use WinToolKit to download the updates and it showed me that i had no wu satisfy folder or updates on my drive. If there are any superseded wu satisfy updates in the main folder then that's a stone to McRip-s garden. Indeed. It seems to be missing: KB2718695 Like i said in the original post. At the time of publishing several new hotfixes were already present in the server that were not there yesterday. Due to bandwidth and time constraints updates to the packs will occur roughly once a month and will always follow these events: Patch Tuesday Repo Updated New Superseded uninstaller published Hotfixes to the packs will not occur unless something is seriously broken (Broken archive, invalid files, invalid installer etc). For example it took about an hour to make new changelogs since the last update was two months ago, remove superseded, include new updates and general maintenance. And it took over 5 hours to upload these packs. 6+ hours of work.
Got it, Then I hope burfadel will read my above post soon and address my concerns regarding the x86 list (that is from him / his script, as I understand). I didn't have time to look at the x64 list, but it's very likely there aren't many hotfixes extra.
I'll look into that . It's 8pm (Tuesday) here, still got a few things to do before tomorrow. I'm away most of the day tomorrow (around 0830 to 2130) so I'll see how I'll feel when I get home! Otherwise, it will be Thursday evening (my time), as in 48 hours time . Thanks for letting me know about those, if there are any other corrections that need making, let me know!
The webserver only will be shut down for a few hours from now on. You'll be notified when the webserver will be online. Other services stay online on this server.
@burfadel checked the list above (from my edited post) also with KUC / komm's server. Many updates are superseded - please fix this when possible. Also I did a comparison (again, only for x86) between komm and McRip, I'll be back with the results in another post, I think you'll find those also interesting.
@komm and @McRip There are many differences between McRip's and komm's server, or main folder, as you can see below - only checked x86 servers. Please, komm and McRip, take a look below, and fix what you consider needs fixing. I also made an input, sorry if I'm wrong with smth. But, really, it's just TOO MANY differences between the two solutions (btw, for people that are interested, McRip's main folder equals komm's main folder + his Media and GroupPolicy subfolders). Also, an important mention - I obtained komm's updates via KUC for an offline untouched x86 windows 7 SP1 HP image. 1. KB2760730-v2 - McRip, you have it named wrong on your server (Windows6.1-KB2760730-v2.msu instead of Windows6.1-KB2760730-v2-x86.msu) 2. KB917607 in your main folder, McRip - just an observation, not a problem. Windows Help can be a separate sub-folder in additionals. 3. Present in McRip's folder that komm says are superseded (not present in komm's server / main folder): 2483564-v2 2524732-v2 2619234 2647753-v4 2705742 2719985 2736233 2761217 (moved to his SatisfyWU folder by komm) 2798162 2798787 2803752 2824408 2832414 4. Present in McRip's x86 folder (from his server), but moved to his embedded only folder by komm (don't know why - some seem ~ important hotfixes) 2545698 2613988 2639077 2695207 2718704 5. Don't get downloaded by KUC, although they should (komm server / app errors): 2736782-v3 2835361 6. Not present at all in komm's server - either superseded, either missed by komm 2780130 7. Considered not to be superseded by komm / present in komm's main folder, but considered superseded by McRip: 2876315 (WU Satisfy from McRip) 2872339 (WU Satisfy from McRip) 2868116 (WU Satisfy from McRip) 2863058 (WU Satisfy from McRip) 2862966 (WU Satisfy from McRip) 2861855 (WU Satisfy from McRip) 2808679 (WU Satisfy from McRip) 2685939 (WU Satisfy from McRip) 2780102 2704372-v7 2732072-v3 2695321-v2 2743155-v2 2741355 2706168 2510531 949843-v2 2752259 - really superseded, but needs the registry ''fix'' from 2775511 2581608 - really superseded, but needs the registry ''fix'' from 2775511 8. New / missed updates by McRip, present only in komm's server / only in his main folder: 2878378 2872862 2875501 2862973 2732673-v4 2856676 2824491 2777201 - not an RSAT hotfix 2690750 - deleted by mistake? 9. Updates that are in komm's main folder, but that probably don't belong there: 2856905 - Active Directory related update 2844009 - Active Directory related update 2701373 - WMF related update 2574819 - DTLS / RDP prerequisite 2780124 - pulled back by Microsoft / no longer offered 2847635 - SNMP update 2786081 - IE10 prerequisite 2695426-v2 - IE8 old hotfix ??? 2707082 - IE8 and IE9 only related 2598845 - IE8 only related 2533552 - not integratable, please remove from main folder 2591500-v3 - IE9 only related, also superseded 2584449 - IE9 only related, also superseded 2592525 - superseded 2647169 - IE9 only, superseded 10. For IIS - komm has a ''very new'' KB2870705 instead of KB2723776 + KB2763973 (superseded probably) PS: there are also 6 more updates in komm's satisfy WU folder, but I don't think they're worth mentioning
Rica, I am SERIOUSLY humbled with your ability to detail and write out those differences. I am doing the same thing for the x64 repo and frankly it has my head spinning... so what I did was send all the files to Komm for review. If your interested I will send you a PM with the info to see if you find it of any use and I will also send it to McRip for the same reason
Edited my previous post. Hope I didn't make any mistakes, and if I did, hope nobody would mind (McRip / komm always know better). @compstuff Thanks for the compliment, however I hope that my ''work'' (some hours spent) won't be in vain, because of already visible Internet big egos. I really hope that everybody will be just as relaxed as I am, and won't take anything personal - just verify my input. And, again, there are just two many differences between two solutions that are meant to deliver ~ the same results. PS: Hope you won't mind, but I don't think I'll also have the time needed to also verify the x64 differences. Maybe next month.
Trust me I don't mind at all so no worries... I also agree with you in that this forum is an amazing source of collaboration and when done in that manner the result is nothing short of spectacular... when put in perspective even the big MS can't really touch the amazing work that is done here. I too just wish the monthly differences weren't so great between the solutions and it seems to be growing more and more each month. If only MS would release a damn SP already but that's not happening so here we are.
because they are really superseded for Win7 SP1 superseded by 2780102 indeed, none of them is superseded not superseded it superseded, but it has a registry entry that you have to add it manually if you do not install it Code: Registry Path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\BITS Registry Value BITSRealisticEstimate Data Type REG_DWORD Data Value 1 it superseded, but it has two registry entry that you have to add manually if you do not install it Code: Registry Path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\IKEEXT\Parameters Registry Value NlbReconnectForAllPeers Data Type REG_DWORD Data Value 1 Registry Path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\IKEEXT\Parameters Registry Value NlbsIdleTime Data Type REG_DWORD Data Range 25 - 60~ still valid if you don't install platform update KB2670838 it superseded, but it has a registry entry that you have to add it manually if you do not install it Code: Registry Path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\Calais Registry Value TransactionTimeoutDelay Data Type REG_DWORD Data Range 5 - 60 not superseded for IE8-x86 not fully superseded regular update, doesn't require AD-LDS, it's superseded if you install WindowsManagementFramework regular update, doesn't require AD-LDS regular update, it's superseded if you install WindowsManagementFramework it's still a regular security update, nevertheless it's really superseded except a single manifest to Ensure-DTLS-Always-Installable it's still a valid update with newest component regular update, doesn't require SNMP it's still a regular update valid for all system regardless of IE10, IE11 they are exist in sub-folder IE8, not in main folder it's always existed in sub-folder "not integratable", not in main folder they still valid if you don't install platform update KB2670838, and they are not in main folder
Wow, seems all over the place! I'm happy to make those changes, but can I have a simple list of superseded/not superseded for x86 and x64? Since it works for folders now as well, I don't need the subfolder information. Thanks! For those updates in the WU Satisfy folder, they're there because you have to install both the LDR and GDR versions of those updates for WU to be satisfied and still be at the maximum level of 'updatedness'. Superseded updates just require the GDR version installed; actually more precisely, they just require the package information to be installed. We'll get to the intricacies of that statement later, but I'll say for now the way dealing with WU Satisfaction will be changing shortly.
I just used Burf's office installer v3 with McRips offfice 2007x86 repo and MS updates offered me word-x-none.msp Patch;word;14.0.7106.5001 and mso-x-none.msp Patch;mso;14.0.7106.5001 Burf.. the tool worked awesome THANKS
