is kuc able to download all post sp1 hotfixes for offline integration rather than checking my system?
I am wondering when it's necessary to install WMF on systems? Does the basic client system need this to actually do anything? Other than an updated powershell I am question my earlier decision to install this on my client systems.
The latest WMF needs .net framework 4.5+, so unless you pre-installed .net 4.5+ into a sysprepd image you should not integrate this
It is not possible to integrate "WMF 4" to ISO, if Net 4.5 is not integrated then? I can integrate the "WMF 3" and install (online) Net 4.5 and 4 WMF?
My real question is more about the need for WMF rather than the pre-req's or method of integration...
i used it for my win7.1 with off-line mode. but when extracting the files, it takes over 10 hrs without any action. just loops in "extracting files" does it need to ON-LINE ??? thx
Yet I integrates the WMF 3 (KB2506143) to ISO and Net 4 is not integrated And KB2506143 superseded by KB2819745? Thanks
WMF 4 (KB2819745) contains several hotfixes? By testing to integrate the ISO, I saw - KB2809215 - KB2819745 - KB2872035 - KB2872047 So if I directly integrate WMF 4 to ISO, I get an error with KB2872047 But if I integrate at first WMF 3 (KB2506143) and after WMF 4 (KB2819745) is OK and without Net 4.5 integrated to ISO PS: This is the KB2819745 for WMF4?
Yes, superseded you can install KB2819745 fine without KB2506143 (tested myself) as we said, WMF is not integratable offline KB2872047 is update for WMF 3.0 (KB2506143), without it you can not install it
Ok thank you for your answer, but if it is not possible to integrate, why I succeed and the files are modified (version 6.3)?
Thanks!!! this made the method and sequence perfectly clear to me, which actually explained a problem I ran into. I am now creating my latest integrated image without the WMF but definitely with .NET 4.5.1. Until I can see or understand a reason why my client systems will need WMF I will exclude it. Even on my admin systems I will exclude it since I mostly manage servers that are currently listed on the "known bugs" list
Seems like you are just trying to understand something. I found the best way to help someone who doesn't understand something is to explain it to them (if indeed you understand it yourself). But some people seem to rather spend their words on demeaning others, while they could have used the same amount of words to explain a point again. 'But they are above that now.' Plus, complaining about people not listening when you yourself won't reply to others (Ricktendo never replied to an honest question I had at WinCert recently) still won't make me facepalm him. But I have lost respect due to that because in the end it seems all these tech guys get to be like this. Look, I can make my own damned silent installers, I don't need the derision or cocky attitudes of people asking for adf.ly help and donations, I thought I was rather helping them if things are that dire. Never mind. What is anyone's contribution worth if they can't even act decently toward another human being? I'll answer it: nothing.
