There seem to be a few mistakes in the latest WHD Update list for Windows 7-x64. It is downloading 3 x86 updates: Hotfix Windows6.1-KB2846340-v3-x86.msu Hotfix Windows6.1-KB2885209-v2-x86.msu Additional/Group Policy Windows6.1-KB2937429-x86.msu Looking inside the .msu's shows they contain the x64 .cabs. So, the update list must just have the file name to save wrong. I'm using WHD 7.9 and the Update list is dated 14-Apr-2014 10:11pm. Please let me know if I should post this in the WHD thread instead. Thanks, Clark.
Abbodi1406 1st a big thanks 2nd WHD keeps showing a message that the new Win7x64 4/17 list is available to download but it seems to only download the 4/16 list
It's just a matter of time difference between zones i also wanted to be sure that users get the fixed list
Hi abbodi406, One small error in your fixed list for Windows 7 x64: Additional/Group Policy Windows6.1-KB2937429-x6486.msu
This seems to contain 6.3.9600.17057 files from Windows 8.1. Does that mean free Windows 8.1 for Windows 7 users, like Apple provided the OS X Mavericks update free?
Don't know but i doubt MS will offer OS upgrade for free -- Don't know most of the hotfixes is not needed, why do you install them? it's just another update
IE11-Windows8.1-KB2956283-x64.msu appears in the WHD repository for windows 7 x64. There's a typo: instead of 6.1 it's 8.1
Could you please give me some help? When I received my new PC, the computer seller in my city installed Windows 7 Ultimate himself. So, I do not know what method he used to make it activated. Windows Update is turned off since then. So, If I download this software and install all updates, will it include updates which check for pirated version of Windows 7 or not? Is it completely safe for my PC and will not create activation problem etc.?
is anyone having any issues with their Windows 7 computers after installing today's compatibility update, like Windows 7 freezing up and you have to restart your computer to fix it?
