Since they are essential, i'm thinking to move "Platform" & "Platform Updates" to the main categories and treated like regular updates (there KB number alphabetical order makes KB2670838 comes first) what do you think? i'm also trying to figure out a way to improve the current categorizing system which is a little bit messy and confusing to some users any suggestions are welcomed
abbodi, did you said in the past you used to divide update batches into categories (depending on what type of update/hotfix it is) to make them integrate/install better? How about doing something like that for the repo?
It's a hotfix downloader, meaning it provides all available hotfixes that been released since SP1 Windows updates only offer important security updates and recommended updates, doesn't offer hotfixes
It was similar to the current system, except i kept driver-type updates in separate category to be integrated last i'm looking for something different
Quick question, anyone know if these updates KB2870165-v3 for Remote Desktop (v7 not v8/8.1) and KB2900635 for XPS Printer are the latest or have they been superseded?
Plus after May 13, MS will not be supporting IE11 and post-rtm updates unless the user has installed KB2929437!
I think everything it's ok, maybe changing the VM updates into hotfix area may be a too bold move in my opinion. This is from the changelog, I'll take a closer look on sunday
Looks good! Make it live! A question on RDC/RDP.. do programs like realvnc/teamviewer utilize these or does RDC/RDP usually work standalone? Also, wanna comment on Additional and Extra folders..... really they have similar meanings don't you think? Could merge the two or use another folder with a more meaningful name, whatever that might be.

Not really, i moved them (with GroupPolicy and WMC) because they are not Features (like MSMQ, NFS) and they are applicable to most editions 2524840 is applicable to all editions however yes, 2519946 is applicable to Ultimate/Enterprise only but, there are also some other hotfixes that are applicable to some editions only Spoiler Code: Ultimate/Enterprise: KB2519946 RemoteFX KB2701239 Features/LPRPortMonitor KB2780124 TS-RemoteApplications Features/NFS Features/SUA Professional/Ultimate/Enterprise: KB2810177 OfflineFiles KB2780130 TS-MiscRedirection KB2796764 TS-MiscRedirection KB2834976 TS-CommandLineTools KB2928492 TS-WMIProvider KB2675275 GroupPolicy KB2934842 GroupPolicy KB2937429 GroupPolicy HomePremium/Professional/Ultimate/Enterprise: KB2872543 TabletPC-OC KB2506628 WindowsMediaCenter KB2537203 WindowsMediaCenter KB2546868 WindowsMediaCenter so, i guess separating those will make some confusion
I really don't know, never used any of them yes, i admit that the naming isn't ideal, but i will try to add a text file to each of those two categories to explain the difference Additional is the main recommended category Extra is something extra , standard users normally will not need any of its updates
