    Looks good! Make it live!

A question on RDC/RDP.. do programs like realvnc/teamviewer utilize these or does RDC/RDP usually work standalone?

Also, wanna comment on Additional and Extra folders..... really they have similar meanings don't you think? Could merge the two or use another folder with a more meaningful name, whatever that might be.

Not really, i moved them (with GroupPolicy and WMC) because they are not Features (like MSMQ, NFS) and they are applicable to most editions
2524840 is applicable to all editions

however yes, 2519946 is applicable to Ultimate/Enterprise only

but, there are also some other hotfixes that are applicable to some editions only
    Code:
    Ultimate/Enterprise:
    KB2519946 RemoteFX
    KB2701239 Features/LPRPortMonitor
    KB2780124 TS-RemoteApplications
    Features/NFS
    Features/SUA

    Professional/Ultimate/Enterprise:
    KB2810177 OfflineFiles
    KB2780130 TS-MiscRedirection
    KB2796764 TS-MiscRedirection
    KB2834976 TS-CommandLineTools
    KB2928492 TS-WMIProvider
    KB2675275 GroupPolicy
    KB2934842 GroupPolicy
    KB2937429 GroupPolicy

    HomePremium/Professional/Ultimate/Enterprise:
    KB2872543 TabletPC-OC
    KB2506628 WindowsMediaCenter
    KB2537203 WindowsMediaCenter
    KB2546868 WindowsMediaCenter

so, i guess separating those will make some confusion

I really don't know, never used any of them :D

yes, i admit that the naming isn't ideal, but i will try to add a text file to each of those two categories to explain the difference

Additional is the main recommended category
Extra is something extra :D, standard users normally will not need any of its updates

Just an Idea... What if, we name the folder like "For ULTIMATE ONLY", "For ULT-PRO-HomeP ONLY"
and a readme.txt if a particular hotfix has a prerequisite

That's very far from ideal or good

as i listed, only few hotfixes are specific, i think a text file will be enough to distinguish them :smile3:

All hotfixes should be applicable to ALL images, because all images can later be updated to other higher editions... So,the updates for features sit there in WinSxS folder until that happens

As abbodi1406 said, these are superseded. If you let 'Windows download' download and install them, only the express cabinets will be downloaded. These express cabinets contain just the manifest files, they do not actually contain any updates.

If you install these separately (assuming all superseding updates are installed), you will actually not only install the manifest files, but the superseded update files as well. These files will be inactive, the newer update will still be the active one. This is not preferable since it needlessly takes up more disk space. Unfortunately, you cannot install the express cabinets yourself, they can only be installed through Windowsupdate. This is by design, so you do not silence Windowsupdate by accident. That would be bad in the case of security updates etc!

There is a bit of a bug in Windowsupdate (still there in Windows 8.1 update 1), where the download size for these express cabinets is not correct. It may read say, 20 MB, where in fact it will only download say, 200 KB. Ideally Microsoft should have at least (express) listed, the correct size, and maybe a quick explanation why it's express, but I guess it's very low on their priority list!

    Hello

I have a problem to installing Windows 7

If I integrate the hotfix at ISO, I get an error message to the end of the installation, after the registry and service settings (Windows can not configure one or more components)
Without integrating the hotfix, Windows 7 installs without problem

I'm testing for a few days (for something else) and at first I had no problem
I remove no components, I just integrate the hotfix
ISO is good because I did not have a problem if I do not integrate the hotfix

    If someone has an idea

    Thanks so much

EDIT: it's ok with rt7lite

So if I disable some services with rt7lite (I touch nothing else) it's ok
    I would do with

    EDIT: Except KB2895729-v2 (I'll test), KB2533552 and KB2603229
There are other hotfix that I don't have to integrate to the ISO?

    Thanks so much :)

    I integrated all hotfixes (and WMF 4) except KB2862330-v2, KB2895729-v2, KB2533552 and KB2603229
    And always the same problem...

    View attachment 28727

    Someone at an idea?

    Thanks so much

PS: no problem if I customize with rt7lite
