Here no BSOD but OS (x86) doesn't restart after update (black screen), laptop HP-6715b, AMD Turion 64 x2 TL-60
No A/V (even Defender), and I am wondering, why my machine is always up-to-date. Bravo, MS. Bravo, news sites such as Neowin for not talking about this newest "feature". MDL is the only place i get info about it
Did you get the jan. 3. 2018 update(s)? If no, read this: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/windows-7-hotfix-repository.19461/page-508#post-1401646 You only will get new updates if the AV set the regkey (defender doesn't set it on 7, you have to do it manually). If yes, you're uptodate for now.
He means, the user should not be required to set the registry key manually, if he don't use A/V WU should detect if Defender/Security Essential or 3rd part A/V is installed or not
All links work here except KB2685811, apparently they removed/changed the link you may check your DNS settings, or download the files manually from above links
In browser all Ok with 'fv3.failiem.lv' links, but WHDownloader v0.0.2.2 cannot download these links with error above. It seems all Ok in my DNS settings. Using Google DNS. Thanks for KB2685811.
The issue is acknowledged by WHDownloder developer https://forums.mydigitallife.net/posts/1375250 until it fixed, download files manually and move them to appropiate category folders
Does anyone know just what changes this KB makes ? 2018-01 Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB4073578) released on 12 Jan 2018. 66.9 MB.
You've noticed some older AMD devices not being able to boot after the kernel patches were installed or when running the 10 IP builds? This should fix at least this: AMD devices fall into an unbootable state.
There's a similar thread in the windows 10 section of the forum. No need to ask the doctor how to change an oil filter...
